Needle valve and seat in the carburator dirty or worn. Best to replace the needle and seat assembly.
Kind of works like a toilet. When the float gets to the top, it shuts off the fuel. Any debris or damage in the needle/seat assembly will cause it to overflow.

There is petrol leaking from the overflow on my zxr 400, should this overflow be connected to anything else via tube ....?

No, the overflow tube should dump the fuel out the bottom of the bike.

Possible solutions (?): 1: Don't over fill the tank. 2: Check for corrosion in the tank overflow tube.

On a kawasaki zephyr 750 set of carbs, where do the two hoses that come from between carbs one and two and three and four go( not the vacuum hoses, or fuel hose. Are these the heater hoses?

They are fuel overflow hoses, and just hang down under the engine. If they are not vacume or fuel lines, then they must be the overflow pipes, one from each carby.

Yamaha t80 townmate carb keeps overflowing with petrol

Yes, the float or the float needle is sticking in an open position. The only other possibility is a float that has a pinhole in it and has filled with petrol and will no longer float as it should.

Fuel leak underneath bike

Most likely comes from the carburetor's overflow tube.Start looking in there to rule out the possibility of overflowing. If it is so you need carbs cleaning and adjusting.

Nsr 125 2000 problem with petrol

Hi!
Your description although very brief appears to relate to carburretor as overflow will only occur due to sticking float valve.
A clean up of internals required, attention carefully to float valve.
Good luck!
Oh if you respond positively with Fixya button it will be a great help?

Fuel leaks out what looks like a vent tube coming from the carbs

Hi ...... Sounds like float levels are set too high or debris in float chamber. Switch petrol off from/at tank and drain fuel from float bowls, if you use the cap off a paint can etc you can catch it and look at it to see if any water or debris present. Retighten drain screws, switch petrol back on and see if it still overflows.
