Question about 2002 Harley Davidson XL 1200 S Sportster Sport

I recently added a kuryakyn hypercharger on my sportster

I recently added a kuryakyn hypercharger on my 2002 sportster 1200. I had a small oil leak at the breather. I put on a worm clamp to stop the problem, but last time i took the bike out to ride, the oil cap popped off and shot oil out every where. where is the problem. too much oil or did i choke off the breather or is it something else?

Well thank you for the info, the real problem was at two ends, first the worm clamp did not choke off the breather, but the oil level is high. That is only in addition to the fact that when I added the hypercharger, I swapped out the breather bolts. The hollow bolts that I used were not allowing the proper vetilation which contributed to the pressure build up. I reinstalled the original breather bolts and continued to use the worm clamp and the problem has been resolved. Thanks for the input.

sounds like you blocked the breather causing it to pressurize. when you say a leak at the breather do you mean coming out the end of the pipe?

I also placed a hyper charger on my 1999 XLH , used the breather bolts in the kit. I have oil leakage around the bolts could this be because they are solid instead of hollow like the stock bolts ?

The worm clamp proly did choke off the breather. Usually when oil comes out of your breathers it means there is to much oil in your oil tank.

They make a crossover tube that relocates the breather a small crankcase style filter and links the two heads through a Crome hoop that's like a banjo nut on a break line allows a vstack or hyper charger to work great with out blowing the valve cover gaskets

There is probably a small leak in the intake tube to that cylinder. Remove and carefully inspect and reinstall carb and induction manifold.

Have installed hypercharger on 06 roadstar. lost 15 miles per gallon. how can i get some of that back ? roadstar has stock pipes with kuryakyn hypercharger installed. carb rejetted for stock pipes

Take the hypercharger back off. The carb uses fuel according to how much air sucks through. You are putting alot more air through the carb, so it sucks more fuel into the engine. Even if your not burning all the fuel, it's running through anyway. That's the downfall to a carb.
