Switch either needs adjusting. or is faulty. you will find it directly under the reservoir. shoudl be a adjuster screw between your lever and the throttle

2014 road king flhr. No brake light when useing front brake. Rear brake works fine. Cruse control not working.

Hi, Calvin when you fix your front brake light issue your cruise control will work fine so before diagnosing any brake light issue always check the bulb and fuse first for integrity a brake light staying on is usually caused by the front brake light switch, which is mechanical, not disengaging. On early models moving the throttle control housing closer to the front brake master cylinder is the main fix. On late models, the switch gets tweaked and needs to be realigned. A brake light that does not come on when the brake lever is applied can be caused by a faulty switch or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. The rear brake light switch is hydraulic and it is extremely rare to malfunction in a closed circuit condition causing the brake light to stay on. Usually, rear brake light switch issues are caused by no brake pedal free play or a sticky rear master cylinder piston. A brake light that does not come on when the rear brake pedal is depressed can be caused by a faulty switch, air contamination in the brake line, or no continuity in the wiring at the switch.

The brake light on my Honda motorcycle is not working from front brake handle, how do I fix this?

The brake light switch for the front brake is pressure-actuated. Is the reservoir low or empty?
Also, check to verify that the connector has not corroded, preventing the flow of current.

Rea stop lt doesnt work with foot control brake lts and turn signals work as always with Front brake lever Is there another brake Lt. switch beyond first one from mastercylinder of rear brake lt. Brake Lt...

Hi Anonymous, this problem is usually cause by the front brake light switch being out of alignment or the button not retracting all the way keeping your brake light on in a closed circuit, depending on your model year. 1996 and earlier models the right handlebar switch housing had to be tight up against the front brake control housing in order for the front brake light switch button to be fully compressed to stop continuity. In 1997 and later models the button was alot shorter and was more of an alignment issue in the switch housing. Rear brake light switches located in the rear brake line TEE can also fail in the closed circuit condition but extremely rare, usually they fail in an open circuit condition where the brake light is not able to activate. 87 CBR600 the front brake does not turn on the brake light

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, check the:
  • front brake light switch at the end of the front brake lever;
  • presence of IGN +12 on the black/brown wire going to the front brake switch coming from the fuse box;
  • presence of brake +12 on the black wire after the switch before the connector, brake +12 on the green/yellow wire after the connector going to the brake bulb socket.

The above assumes that the foot brake light switch works to light the brake bulb and that the brake bulb have been tested good.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Check the wiring connections to the front brake switch. If all OK, then it could be the switch.
