Rsvr 2004. immobiliser light flashes but when key inserted light stays flashing. alldash lights come on when ignition is turned on ,but when starter is pressed nothing happens. any help appreciated

u will need about 1/2 to do the flash ----insert key and turn to the on position [do not start] and leave in this position for ten minutes --the security light will flash and go on and off during this ignition flash ---then turn off for 10 seconds ====repeat this step 2 more times than turn key to on for a second than start vehicle ur key and ignition relearn should be complete

the ignition relay may have gone. in the fuse box. or the immobiliser is not turning off. could be the chip in the key has moved. or the reader has failed. in key there is a black square should be sitting near to the key end. reader is fitted around the ignition barrel. immobiliser if the light is still flashing or flashes every minute it has failed.

the flashing red light comes on after a minuite of removing the key from the ignition or locking the car, the light is the immobiliser light, when this light is flashing the immobiliser is active, when put the key into ignition and turn on the ignition the immobiliser will turn off if its the correct key.

A FORD MACHANIC HAS TOLD ME THAT IN FACT THE KEY HAS TO BE RECODED. MY SITUATION IS EXACTLY THE SAME. HE SAID TO RECODE THE KEY I HAD TO TURN THE IGNITION TO THE RUN POSITION, THE SECURITY LIGHT ON THE DASH WILL FLASH RAPIDLY AND CONTINUE TO FLASH FOR 15 MINUTES . WITHIN FIVE MINUTES AFTER THE LIGHT STOPS FLASHING I MUST TURN OFF THE IGNITION FOR ONE SECOND AND TURN IMMEDIATLY BACK TO THE RUN POSITION FOR 15 MORE MINUTES. THE LIGHT WILL GO OFF AGAIN . WITHIN 5 MIN. I MUST TURN OFF THE IGNITION FOR ONE SECOND AND TURN BACK TU RUNNING POSITION. 15 MINUTES LATER REPEAT STEPS AGAIN AND THE KEY WILL BE REPROGRAMMED, AND STSRT THE CAR. Yes it is your imobilizer.Have it bypassed by an auto electrition.

It could be that chip inside key just went bad. Do u have a 3rd key? That works? If so take the 2 good keys and turn the igntion to run postion for 3 secs each then do the same for the 3rd key and this will reprogram it if the chip is ok. If you do not have 2 good keys then u will have to have a scan tool that will link up with PATS system and perform security access to reprogram it.

diesel ,,,just bypass the immobiliser ,20mins work

these motors suffer from dodgy starter contacts on the ignition switch,turn key and all lights on,push car and it starts ok but no starter motor.??these switches are dear as its a complete unit with steering lock,if this is the fault then fit an old fashioned push button switch on dash ---sorted.If you say epc light on then this is immobiliser ,try spare key if that dont work then its a dealer job to reset immobiliser unless someone knows how to by-pass it.Havent done one yet so i dont know how too,but i itching to get my diesel oil covered grimed in black hands on one to try and pit my wit against a four eyed nerd that invented the immobiliser system.
