Hi, Eric982 for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your problem. I have a 2002 V-Star Classic. I recently had new

Why did you have new carbs installed? If the new ones have bigger throats, there might not be sufficient air velocity to pick up fuel when accelerated. The starter problem sounds like the over-running clutch on the starter shaft has oil on it or the chain from the starter to the engine is off/broken. The whine is due to the starter being unloaded and trying to self-destruct from over-revving.

I RIDE A 2003 650 V-STAR CUSTOM. I TOOK IT IN FOR

It sounds like they pinched the vent tube under the tank. There is a hose connected to the bottom of the tank that runs to the bottom of the bike. It allows air to enter the tank so you don't get vapor lock from the motor sucking fuel. You'll need to take the tank off and make sure the lines aren't pinching anywhere. I would call the mechanic and make him fix it and any damages to the tank.

I need the paint codes for my 2006 V star 650 custom

go to www.colorrite.com and look up your exact motorcycle. Sounds like you have a midnight V star? The gloss black is called Raven and the matte finish i'm unsure of. i work for a Yamaha dealer and we always recommend Color Rite. Good luck.
