Sounds like the starter relay is going out.(It is located right beside the battery)
Please rate this a fixya
SOURCE: honda cb750 f2 1978fault on old bike ! electrical problem
From your explanation it sure sounds electricals, but surprising to hve a total failure to the electricals and thn it reappears after 30seconds!
Best would be to go through the wiring especially frm the battery onwards, the fuse box .
Since it is totally disappearing it should be a fault to those main wires could be lose connections somewhere!.
Hope this helps.

if the starter is jammed, you can probably get it up on the center stand put it in top gear and **** the rear wheel back and fourth. that may do it. or jumping the starter itself may do it.

Try starting it then pull the plug out right after trying if the plug is wet you have to much fuel and the float is stuck or has a hole in it and it is most likely your problem if you have fire. if it is flooded you can pull out the spark plug and clean it and kick the motor over to get excess gas out of the cylinder try installing it again then start it, does it fire up? if it does it's flooded due to the problem listed above. If it does not start pull plugs out again add a cap of motor oil in the cylinders and if the plugs are dry reinstall plugs and see if it runs, If it does it may have stuck rings the capful of oil will make the rings seat once this happens they rings should loosen up if not and it will not run after you shut it off then you have low compression. This is assuming you know you have a blue spark to the plug and have cleaned and gapped the plug or plugs. If you need more help psot here and reply tothe e-mail you recieved with this. Hope this helps.

G'day. First you need to confirm then, is it the starter motor at fault or the engines refusal to turn over.
I suggest confirm your engine turns over by hand.Use a socket/spanner on crank end or if not so accessable try remove spark plugs, shift into top gear & try turn over the engine using the rear wheel.Once you have proven that the engine turns over(is not seized)then it is logically your starter motor, as you by-passed your starter circuit when you shorted the solinoid with your screwdriver & the starter motor didn't turn. So, next remove your starter motor & test it on the bench/floor.Secure the starter motor. In a vice is best but on the floor with your foot firmlly on it will do. Using jumper leads conect it to your battery.Negative to the body of the starter motor. Now touch the posative to the starter motor terminal & see if it works- It shouldn't. Now you know your starter motor is the problem.Replace or repair,re-test,re-fit & you should be OK. Please let me know if you have any other problems with this & I'm happy to help.
