Question about 1987 Yamaha FZR 1000
I have an 87 fzr 750rt. I bought it from my cousin about a year ago. The engine was torn apart having head work done to it. Assembled the engien and set the timing put new plugs in it. and filled the tank with gas. Hit the started and all it does is crank over, pulled the plugs and checked for spark getting good spark, and they where wet so getting fuel to. Has good compression but not sure where to go next.
Best guess it that the OHC (Over Head Cam) chain is not timed properly. If too far out of time the pistons can bend the valves and crack the valve guides. Let's hope not. Put a timing light on it while the starter is turning the motor over. If the lines don't match up you had best take a look at the OHC timing.
Google " yamaha FRZ 750 RT " Right now there is a factory service manual for your bike for sale on ebay. A link to the Ebay site is there when you Google.
