Question about 2000 Harley Davidson FLHR-FLHRI Road king
I removed the flat set screw, Which is located under the gas tank It goes into a plastic vacuum delivery system of some sorts. Was there suppose to be a spring in there? What holds it from virbrating out? I was tolded These are set at the factory. What can I do? The bike is a 1995 HD FLHR Road King. It has a S&S (E) Carb.
Your correct it has a spring that adds tension to keep it from vibrating out. You can get on through S&S or any spring at auto parts store.

This sounds like the VOES switch. It uses vacuum from the intake to control the max. ignition timing on your bike. These are set according to type of bike it's fitted to. I think that if you look inside under the flat set screw, you may see another screw for setting the unit. Best replace the unit.
