Question about 2004 Suzuki VL 125 Intruder LC
Suzuki VL 125cc Intruder (2003). Only aquired bike in the last fortnight. Gearchange lever on worn spigot?, Chain is in dirty/rusty condition though it is now oiled by me - has now jumped the rear sprocket. Engine works perfect and is very clean as are all the other casings, no trace of any oil leaks. Bike is in need of TLC! Looks as though it has not been used regularly. My first cruiser - need pointing in the right direction from the start - hope you can help.
Difficulty in selecting neutral is most likely due to clutch drag. Does the bike jump forwards when you select first gear? This could be due to dry or wrongly adjusted clutch cable. Another though less likely cause could be weak clutch springs or a worn clutch basket. Aim for about 5mm free play at clutch lever.
