Leaking gas line

Small quarter inch hose attached to carb came loose and leaks gas when gas valve is opened? i can't see where it came loose from?

What that is,it is an overflow hose so you don't flood the engine.close off your fuel when you are not running and that should fix it UNLESS it leaks while you are running.than that is a different issue.

Why is bike flooding and pushing gas out top over flow hose on carb after it runs for a min or two. Carb float been replaced still doing it.

Codes351/420/442/455 what do they mean


(M) Check Engine Light ("Malfunction Indicator Light" or "Check Engine") will illuminate during engine operation if this Diagnostic Trouble Code was recorded (depending if required by CARB and/or EPA). MIL is displayed as an engine icon on the instrument cluster.

P0351 (M)
Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit
Peak primary circuit current not achieved with maximum dwell time.

P0420 (M)
Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
Catalyst 1/1 efficiency below required level.

P0442 (M)
Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (medium leak)
A 0.040 leak has been detected in the evaporative system. (A faulty gas cap may cause this code). Also see TSB 25-001-02A. Note: The respective Powertrain Diagnostic Procedures Manual will direct the technician to determine if the vehicle evaporative system has an external system leak. Examples of some external system leaks are: a loose gas cap, a disconnected evaporative system hose, or a loose hose connection. Remember that the evaporative system may also have an internal system leak. This internal leak may be caused by an intermittent or permanently stuck open Duty Cycle Purge (DCP) valve. 2005 drz 125L carb hose line diagram


Might be fuel leaking from overflow. Perhaps the float valve is stuck or damaged, allowing the float bowl to overfill. Slight chance tapping on side of carb may seat the valve. If not, it will probably have to either be set, or replaced. Could possibly have some "gunk" stuck in the valve seat from the cleaning. It only takes a tiny speck of debris to hold the valve open, causing flooding. Another possible cause is that during the cleaning, the tab that adjusts the level of the float valve got bumped, changing the level.

Seems to be getting small amount of gas in oil on 2150


the needle valve in the carb is not seating and the carb overflows into the engine replace the needle and seat and add a shut off valve on the fuel line

When i start my 1998 Ford Expedition, it immediatley dies out unless i step on the gas right away.. but once i let go of the gas pedal, it dies right away... what could be the problem? please help...


The age of your vehicle also guarantee's a vacuum leak. It may sound silly but the truth is rubber grommets, and hose's shrink and dry out over time and the harsh environment under the hood makes it worse. Check all vacuum lines and fittings attached to the intake manifold, valve covers (pcv valve), and be sure to check for a vacuum fitting on top of the intake just behind the throttle body. Does it fit tight in the hole? You can seal loose fittings with a high-temp RTV (Red) silicone sealant/adhesive. Several small leaks add up and your engine, heat/AC, and transmission will be all to glad to tell you about it.

1984 F150 won't idle


It sounds to me like there is still a pretty good vacuum leak somewhere, and you should also check for any dis-connected or missing vacuum lines on the intake manifold, at the carburetor, and the large vacuum hose to the brake booster unit and the vacuum valve at the brake booster unit for any vacuum leaks or broken vacuum lines/hoses, and they can be hard to find because cracks in the vacuum hoses like to hide on the under-side of the vacuum lines/hoses especially the hard plastic ones. Also the carburetor could be loose or the carburetor base gasket could be damaged, the EGR valve gasket could be damaged, or the intake manifold gasket could be damaged, and these are all the most likely places to suspect a major vacuum leak.

P0442 OBD-II Trouble Code - Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (small leak)

What does that mean?
This indicates a fuel vapor leak in the EVAP control system. It means a very small leak has been detected. In fact, the leak can be from a hole as small as 0.04" in diameter. The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine.


Symptoms
You likely won't notice any drivability problems.


Causes
A code P0442 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:
* A loose or improperly affixed gas cap
* A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand)
* A small leak/hole in a fuel vapor hose/tube
* Other small leak in EVAP system
* Faulty vent o-ring seal


Possible Solutions
With a P0442, the most common repair is to:
* Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the codes, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back.
* Otherwise, replace the gas cap, or
* Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses

GSF 600 SV 97 fuel problem


If the bike will run with the choke on then you have a lean fuel/air mixture condition. Most common cause is a vacuum leak or faulty pitcock. Spray some carb cleaner around the carb mounts with engine at idle, if the rpms change there is your leak.
Your petcock should have two hoses attached to it. One hose is the main flow to the carbs. The other hose is/should be a vacuum hose that allows the gas to flow (when vacuum is applied). When your petcock is in the PRI position, this will bypass the vacuum hose. Leaving it in PRI when motor off could possibly flood the engine. Check to see if that vacuum hose is attached properly with no splits or cracks near both joints. If all is attached properly your problem is the petcock itself. It has a diaphragm and 'return' spring. Weak return spring, clogged petcock, damaged diaphragm can all cause your problem. Also, after you recleaned and inspected the carbs, were they synched... if not, this needs to be done.
