Question about 2002 Yamaha TT-R 250

New slip-on FMF Powercore 4 on 02' TT-R250

I installed the FMF Powercore 4 slip on muffler and since then it runs like sh*t. I was told there are no aftermarket jets for this bike just oem, is this true? I am obviously pushing a buttload more air and not enough fuel so there's gotta be a way to re-jet this thing. If I bought just the stock primary jet could I drill it out to open it up to allow more air to flow thru carb? Please can somebody send some help my way. Thanx. RJ-Vancouver, WA

I looked up in the book for jets for your bike,i diden't see could try to drill out the jet but they are brass.and very fragile.unless you are a machinest.also did you upgrade your air filter to go along with your new exhaust?

hi this might help,by fitting an after market exhaust system you will probably have leaned out the fuel air ratio in the carb(less back pressure in the exhaust system)you will need to have the carb rejetted to suit the exhaust modification,if you keep running the bike as it is you will inevitably seize the motor as it is running way to lean .cheers

1999 open enduro TT-R250 plastics.. will any thing else fit it?

Check around your area and the web for a motorcycle salvage yard. That should get the plastic cost down big time. As to getting loud, Got a hacksaw? Cut the muffler off and just run a straight pipe. You will want to have the option of baffling the pipe to appease law officers and grandma. The bike shop may have a baffle but one can be made from a large washer if you are handy and have an acetylene outfit.
Please rate this solution as a "FixYa" for your problem if it works out for you. Thanks!

Dirtbike eahaust pipe comprison -which is best

I know there were a few different models: X440S only FMF Powercore aluminum silencer/stainless header combo E440/C440 standard header/silencer with midpipe attached (long can) (2 spark arrestors) S440 standard header/shorty silencer with seperate midpipe (1 spark arrestor) X440 standard header/silencer (NO spark arrestors) Just wondering whether anyone has ever done any hp tests between these. From my experience the X440 can would flow the best because of the lack of spark arrestors but I'm wondering how the FMF powercore compares? The FMF has shorter header runners leading to the merged portion so the shorter header should deliver more low end torque. Also do I have the S440 can info right, only 1 spark arrestor in the shorty?,The so-called S440 pipe did not have a separate midpipe. It had a fixed welded inlet, same as the longer can, and was full open. Also, I have a New 03 X440 here with the SAME exhaust, ...but another with a long and full-open version. So, you really cannot tie all exhaust versions to a particular model, since too many owners will get confused. Everybody would need to check their own machine to be sure. But if ANYBODY out there has a separate midpipe?, I'd really like to confirm wazzup -- Up until now, I have thought that the only ones around are from the small batch that I had found over in Holland. And, on just a few bikes that were assembled in Europe just prior to the bankruptcy. ,,,
