You've blown a fuse, check the fuse block. it should be an accessory fuse.

Did you test the fuses or just visually inspect them, they should be tested with a meter, as they can break below the sight line.

My next step would be to start checking for a short, look at wiring under the seat and from the speedo housing, look for wires rubbing through, or together. as not all short circuits are to ground.

Check the gas gauge wiring as i believe it is in the tank.

It is likely something simple, but could be time consuming to locate.

You can remove fuses and see if it operates differently, if you find a fuse that has no effect, it may be an indication of a broken circuit.

Ihope this is of some help.

Handlebars won't stay straight.

If your handlebars don't appear to be straight, the pinch bolts on the lower triple tree may be loose or the rubber handle bar riser bushings need to be replaced. Either way, you'll have to remove the "Tins" from the front end of your Fat Boy to access this area.

Good Luck

After cleaning and polishing my '01 Fat Boy & checking that everything was working b4 ride. My SPEEDO stopped working, (black out #1) on the ride. Pulled over to check it out. At the same time, I...

The problem is most likely related to the speed sensor down on the tranny. Most likely it got wet and either shorted out or needs cleaned, but most likely it needs replaced, Do you have a Factory Manual as well as the Electronic diagnostics manual. You can put the bike into diagnostic mode and it will tell you what the problem is. If it is the speed sensor that crapped out . That would cause the speedo to illuminate, but not read anything. Also, it would cause the Speed/RPM cancel function to fail. Does the speedo illuminate? If not, you either have a dead speedo, or a short to its power. The only other thing is the ignithion switch, if water got into this and caused a short that would also cause this issue, try wiggling it around and see if it makes better contact and see if that helps, might just have to let it sit in the sun for a while and dry out and left over moisture. I assume you checked all the fuses?

A couple of questions though. Do the turn signals cancel when you bank turn the bike? There are two ways that the bike cancels the signals. Either via Speed/RPM ratio, or via the bank angle sensor inside the TSSM (Turn Signal / Security Module).

I have a 2005 Harley Fatboy Screamin' Eagle. The Tachometer appears to be getting power, it lights up, but does not register the RPMs. Any suggestions on what could be wrong or how to fix it?

Check the connections of the pink wires at your coil. These are the "trigger" wires for the unit. Otherwise, I don't know of anything that is "user repairable" in the unit. Good Luck, Steve

Have a 2004 Fat Boy. Do I need to adjust carburator if I change the exhaust from Screamin Eagle to Cobra Slash Down?

Probably not .... Run it about 100 miles and pull the plugs... if they look OK ( not ash white for too hot or black for too much fuel) you should be OK ....

Electrical trouble

If all the fuses turn out good especially the main fuse then you might want to check your starter solenoid. Try jumping the two leads on the solenoid if the bike starts then most likely the solenoid is bad. If it doesn't start then it could be two other things. 1- your Ignitions might be shoot. tell tail signs. Bike cutting out during the ride and bike loses power when you hit the starter button but power returns when you turn the key off then back on. 2- The Rectifier might be gone. The rectifier will cause many different problem that might have you chasing carb problems, to the bike won't start at all with no cranking
