Question about 2002 Yamaha TT-R 250
Hi. The TTR is stock. Went to start the bike after the winter season and the bike will not idle. New gas, plug & oil. The bike starts under choke and will cause the exhaust pipe to run cherry hot. The plug is running lean. I have good exhaust pressure and intake is sucking air. I pulled the carb off and clean out all main jet and cartrige as well.
Look around your bike near where the throttle cable meets the engine, when you pull the throttle, the cable pulls a quarter circle piece of metal which is connected to a spring, then connected to that should be a screw, that is the idle screw, turn it very slightly, usually clockwise to make the idle higher, and this should sort out the problem.
