Question about 2003 Honda VT 750 CD Shadow A.C.E. Deluxe
Your kickstand switch is either broken or out of position. The bike kills the engine as a safety feature if it thinks the sidestand is down and the bike is put in gear while the engine is running.

Make sure your kickstand is up when you put it in gear, the kickstand has a kill switch on it and will only run in neutral if it is down
