If your fuel pump is not priming on your 2004 Honda CBR 1000RR, there are a few things that you can check to diagnose and potentially fix the issue:
Check the fuel pump fuse: Locate the fuel pump fuse in the fuse box and check if it's blown. If it is, replace it with a new one and see if the fuel pump primes.
Check the fuel pump relay: The fuel pump relay is another common culprit of fuel pump issues. Locate the fuel pump relay in the fuse box and check if it's working properly. You can do this by swapping it with a known working relay, such as the horn relay, and seeing if the fuel pump primes.
Check the fuel pump connectors: Make sure that the electrical connectors for the fuel pump are securely connected and free from corrosion. Use a multimeter to check for continuity between the fuel pump and the battery to see if there is an issue with the wiring.
Check the fuel pressure regulator: If the fuel pressure regulator is malfunctioning, it can cause the fuel pump not to prime. Check the fuel pressure regulator to see if it's working correctly.
Check the tip-over sensor: The tip-over sensor is designed to shut off the fuel pump in the event of an accident. Check the tip-over sensor to see if it's working properly.
If none of these steps help solve the problem, then it's possible that the fuel pump itself is faulty and may need to be replaced.
the fuel pump don't turn on every time . first when the pump as prime or if system is prime the pump will not turn on the PCM give a ground to fuel pump relay for 2 sec and while the engine is cranking the pump is running all the time. but pcm don't prime each time
filling the filters before installing will make priming go more quickly. once the pump is primed crack open the fuse line at the injector while cranking until you have fuel pulsing out, close it then move on to the next injector. keep doing this until the engine runs smoothly. it may start running before all the injectors have been purged so keep clear of all moving parts and a fire extinguisher handy would be a good idea.
It could either be a fuel pipe between your prime pump and injector pump that sucks air so your diesel flows back into your fuel tank. Or you need to replace the prime pump. There is a rubber diaphragm in the prime pump that gets worn. Unfortunately need to buy a new prime pump. A simple sollution is to fit a non return valve to your fuel line. That need to be connected between the prime pump and fuel tank. Hope it helps. Blessings
