Will the tire size 235/40/R18 fit on my 2000 Oldsmobile Alero?

I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero, sedan, 4 cylinder. I am thinking about purchasing a set of 100 spoke chrome daytons. The tire size is 235/40R18. I want to know if the rims will fit on my vehicle without rubbing when I turn a corner. If the rims with tires on wouldn't fit without rubbing, what other size tires would fit?

Take your Alero to any reputable tire dealer and they will assist you in hopes of selling you something. Just tell them you want an estimate and that you want to be sure you won't have a rubbing problem with this change.

How to reset anti-theft on a 2000 alero

The security, antitheft or lock picture/icon is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well.

I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero, I was recently changing the fuses when I noticed there was no A.I.R. system fuse. What does it do and do I need it?

Hi, this fuse runs the air pump that forces secondary air into the throttle body--also called the smog pump. This is part of the emission control system. It may be that your state does not require this system or perhaps a previous owner disabled the system. Or, if you have the 4-cylinder engine, I don't think that engine uses A.I.R.

How to replace disc brake pads?

JACK THE WHEEL UP, AND TAKE TIRE AND RIM OFF! YOU'LL SEE THE DISK BRAKE CALIPER! ON THE BACK OF THE CALIPER IS TWO BOLTS (POSSIBLY ALLEN HEAD BOLTS) REMOVE THOSE TWO BOLTS, AND WIGGLE THE CALIPER! YOU'LL NEED TO SPREAD THE CYLINDER INSIDE WIDER TO ACCOMODATE FOR THE NEW BRAKE THICKNESS! YOU CAN DO THIS BY LOOSENING THE ZERK FITTING JUST ENOUGH TO PUSH THE CYLINDER IN WITHOUT LOSING ALL THE BRAKE FLUID! SET THE BRAKEPADS IN THE SAME POSITION AS THE OLD ONES COME OUT! PUT THE CALIPER BACK ON THE HUB, AND PUT THE BOLTS BACK IN! TIGHTEN THEM BACK DOWN, AND PUT THE WHEEL BACK ON!

Would a fuel tank for a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero work for a 2000 year. 2.4L 4 cylinder? If not where could I purchase a new one for my year?

They don't appear to be the same. I can't even find a part number for the 2000 year on Rock Auto or Auto Zone's websites. This may be a dealer only item or you can pick one up from the local salvage yard. There are also some fuel tank repair kits and patches out there if you only have a little hole to patch up.

How do you change the rear sparkplugs on an 2004 Oldsmobile Alero V6 ?

On the 2002 olds alero 2.2 4 cylinder ecotec the spark plugs are located on top of the intake, under the cover that gives the engine size,it I think that yours are also located under this cover. All you have to do is remove the four bolts on top of the cover and your plugs will be under there.
