I just installed a s&s carb had the stock carb on it now its off start the bike up idles a little fast but look under the bikes oil pushing from oil breather round one on bottom of motor the breather is pointing straight up dont know it thats the problem but any help would be great it is a 1992 fatboy with a 92 evo motor
Yea exactly as flstf93 says and how about induction and the filter box? Does it match the increased air demand? but first start off with the breather kit really.

I don't know the term tickover. If you mean it idles to high then lower the idle. It's a carbed bike right? Idle screw is on backside near front of carb but remember these Twin cams run on oil volume not oil pressure. The bike needs to idle between 1000 - 1200 rpm to maintain proper oil circulation. If you turn the idle down to get that lope or potatoe sound from the bike you can starve the engine of oil and burn it up. These aren't throw away rice rockets of yesteryear.
Idle adjustment on back of carb near front of bike. As stated in another post. The bike NEEDS to idle at 1000 - 1200 rpm for proper oil flow.Anything less and you could starve the bike of proper oil circulation and damage the motor.
Ok try this way
you have two screws one is loaded with spring other is little inside
follow the steps
start the bike now screw in the spring loaded screw now the idling will be more dont worry about that
now tight the air screw now slowly unscrew the air screw now you can find idling difference in one stage the idling will rise ( max) at that point stop unscrewing the air screw now reduce the idling as your wish now take a test ride.
i take it the carb isnt the original one? well you can still set it up for the bike take the carb of and remove the bottom and check the floats there shouldnt be petrol flowing out of the overflow pipe when the bike is running when you have done that take the top of the carb apart and remove the needle valve from the top its connected to the throttle cable blow down the jets to clean them out re assemble the carb
there is 2 screws on the side of the carb 1 is the air screw the other is the tick over turn them both in till they are tight then turn them 2 turns out
when you start the bike it might run fast at idle or backfire if it does adjust the top screw for tick over(idle) the bottom screw for running better
When the carb was rebuilt it was only bench tuned. It is always wise to tune them once installed. the smoke may stop after the carbs are adjusted. However white or light colored smoke is always an indication of oil. It sounds like you may have a small leak. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Skyteam is not a bike I am very familiar with. My best guess is that the hose is a breather hose for the crankcase. Contact the dealers parts department on that question. I looked for a free service manual download with no success. We need to start by doing some of the basics.
Got oil in the gearbox? Is it fresh oil or been in there for several months? Dirty oil causes friction, aka heat. Burn premium gas If you don't already. Install a new NGK spark plug one heat range colder than the stock plug. Service the fuel system.
Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Is there any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Is there any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ). Drain the carburetor. There should be a screw on the lower side of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Remove the carburetor from the engine. Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Remove the idle screw and the air screw on the outside throat of the carb and spray into the screw holes as well. < < READ CLOSELY > > Be sure to put these two screws back in the same hole they came out of. Put the rest of the carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Check and tighten the carb manifold also. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ). INSTALL AN IN-LINE FUEL FILTER. Remove the exhaust and dump the water out. Lube the chain and cables. Drain the carburetor. There should be a screw on the lower side of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. Install a new stock NGK spark plug and try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.

If you are smoking that badly, loose the gas in the tank and start fresh with a 32/1 gas/oil mix. That equals 4 ounces of TWO STROKE OIL to one gallon of gas. Do NOT use motor oil in the gas. It may continue to smoke for awhile, until it rids it'self of built up oil in the crankcase.
On the clutch, be sure the oil level in the gearbox is correct. This is where 10w40 motor oil goes. Check the clutch cable linkages. One at the clutch lever and possibly one at the motor. You should have about 1/4" play in the clutch handle before the lever starts actually pulling the clutch.

Did you add a breather kit with the S&S carb or are you trying to still use the stock oil breathers?
