The automatic transmission creeps? is that it?
that means the (brakes are dead) or the engine RPM is too fast.
if engine is cold (was it) the RPM can be and will be very high and will creep. so is it cold, the engine , and how cold, was it at time of creep
and what was the engine RPM.

or does e ofline mean off line or really means stalls.
as in, my engine when off line, like printer. or ?
wild guess there.

this is simple, all A./T have a clutch that has a stall speed
if you exceed that, RPM it does creep, that is how the a/T fluid clutch works. That is why say , when you idle a 800 RPM it dont creep
then you advance the throttle (engine rpm rises) there is a point
that car starts to move, this is the stall speed, threshold.
all normal.
this is why the operators guide has you start the engine brakes on
and trans in park then while holding the brake , you shift to drive
and prevent creeping,,,,,

Nissan maxima 2000 not moving when in drive D but can move in gear 1 or 2.

This seems to be a clogged filter in trans. Only to be serviced by a transmission repairman or local oil change shop . Beware of some discount trans. Shops , remember they are in the Business ......

97 4 runner wont move,no noises just like your in nuteral.Fluid is fine i can move it in 4x4 what can i look for before my girl tells me to dump it

To understand you
the car runs but when you engage drive it doesn't move
however if you move the selector from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive it does move
is that correct
logically if that is the case the auto transmission is working but the drive to the rear wheels is not functioning
That would point to a problem in the , diff connection ( broken rear axle )
by engaging 4 wheel drive you are moving by the front diff only

Why merc c180 automatic gearbox leverage not moving when the engine is on what is the cause?

There are several possibilities here. First of all, do you put your foot on the brake before trying to put the lever into drive. This is a safety procedure in just about every late model car. It prevents the car from moving while you are shifting into gear.
Second, factoring in that you already know about putting your foot on the brake, does the car move at all when you try to put it into drive? If it does, see the next explanation.
Thirdly, there is a set-up that displays what gear you are in when driving whether it be Drive or Reverse. Sometimes the area where it indicates what gear you are in "breaks" and does not display properly. If you can drive the car, this is the most likely explanation.
Now, if the car is not drive-able, then you may have a linkage problem and you need a mechanic to fix that for you.
