Your loosing fluid from clutch..Look under the hood on the drivers side next to the brake fluid reservoir to wars the fender will be a little black cap on a clear little bottle or clear looking with a line going down under the car and it bolts right to the fire wall..Take that cap off and see if there is any fluid. If its low or empty you have a leak in the clutch assembly .Put some brake fluid in it thats what it calls for and fill it up..Pump your clutch pedal a few times and it should start to pump up.But you'll have to look for the leak by the trans or one of them could be bad..The master cylinder which is the thing you put fluid in or checking the fluid in or the slave cylinder thats down by the transmission..Hope this helps you and have a great day

Pretty good chance it's the clutch but check the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder for leaks (also line between). A drastic change often is caused by failure of either component...generally if clutch fails, it is a gradual process (similar to how a brake pad wears)

Manual clutch will go into gear but wont move in any of the 5 gears

You may have an internal transmission problem or clutch issue. If you can shift the car into gear while running without using the clutch pedal, suspect a defective clutch

Clutch pedal straight to floor

If you put the trans in neutral and depress the clutch pedal it should still start.
The clutch is hydraulic, so there should be something connecting the pedal to the master cyl and the slave cyl to the clutch disk.

I have a 1998 accord 4cyl coupe manual trans. The

A clutch issue youtend to have more of an engagement problem with 1st and reverse gear for a small time period before you notice other gears. You want to check the clutch hydrolic system for any leaks(clutch slave at transmission, clutch master, which you look for leakage on interior above clutch pedal)and at fluid resevoir.you also want to double check condition of trans fluid. strongly recommend using only HONDA BRAND MANUAL TRANS. FLUID when doing maintinance, fluid should be replaced every 30k on this car.The Honda brand fluid is like night and day on these cars,it WILL make a difference in shifting!!TRust Me on this point! Sorry now back to your main clutch issue, when driveing and you go to shift gears and normally notice grinding, with clutch pedal in shft out of gear and before engageing it into next gear do a double pump of clutch pedal then see if when continuing to next gear if it engagees smoother.if so you know you have without a dout a clutch pressure plate/disc problem. I can tell you that in twenty years the only manual transmissions themselves that ever had problems were due to outside influences(gear oil in transmission, improper driveing, etc.)let me know what you find and we can go from there..JOEL

Please save me from CLUTCH HELL

Have your mechanic ck for a possible issue with the pilot bearing. if the clutch linkage is indeed full travel, then the clutch should be "disengaged" and the only thing left is a pilot bearing (which should be replaced at every clutch replacement) or there is a problem with the disc. If clutches dont last 100k miles it either the driver or cheap parts.

When you bleed the system make sure to bleed in 2 points.
One is the slave cylinder, the other one is in the joint of the line (hydraulic line) when it passes from the chassis to the engine (right above the transmission). loosen the bolt just a little and press the clutch again (several times).
then you will be done bleeding the system correctly and your clutch will work again!
