How to adjust a ryobi s 430 ry34447carbrator to operate above 2000 feet

go to that altitude
now start the unit and run at full throttle
adjust the screw closest to the air cleaner until the engine reaches peak rpm and settles out
now slowly back off to idle adjusting the screw closest to the butterfly to maintain even rpm
idle rpm is slow enough that the clutch is not operating but it idles well
if it idles well but too fast adjust the screw on the end of the throttle cable

Ok I got saw running good fast but won’t idle?

the sequence to throttle adjustment is to adjust to high speed first ( screw closest to the air filter) turn in in or out until it fires evenly at rpm and picks up rpm easily
now hold the throttle at full throttle and slowly idle down while adjusting the idle screw ( closest to the butterfly) to maintain engine running
the screw should have been turned all the way in then back out 1 1/2 turns before starting the engine
keep slowing the engine while making very small adjustment until it idles at rpm slow enough that the chain is not driving
If you get it low but it stalls out , then adjust the throttle stop screw to maintain idle rpm
Correct adjustment is from this point the rpm increases rapidly with out falter ( fine tune high speed screw to achieve that)
and when left to idle will do so evenly without driving the chain
all of this working is depending on the carby having new diaphragms , needle height adjustment correct and the system cleaned out

How to adjust idle on 1989 toyota celica with 22r engine

The 2.2L of that year would be the 5S-FE engine.
It used an electronic Idle Speed Control Valve.
With all of the intake/vacuum system connected connected, accessories off and the transmission in neutral connect a tachometer. Short terminals TE1 and E1 of the underhood check connector.
Wait for the idle to maintain 1000-1300 RPM for 5 seconds.
If needed adjust the idle adjust screw to an engine speed of 650+-50 RPM.

US Idle is 700+-50 RPM, CA M/T is 800+-50 RPM and CA A/T is 750+-50 RPM.

Remove jumper of E1 and TE1 of the check connector.

Idle adjustment at carburator end

most older cars had 2 adjustments , a air screw for enrichment and throttle screw for engine idle speed, later models did away with the enrichment screw, to adjust set idle screw to 600 rpm, adjust air mixture screw to fastest rpm , reset idle screw to preferred idle speed.

Idling speed

Hi, Anonymous the carburetor throttle shaft wheel has two cables the cable closest to the right side of the bike is the throttle cable and the one closest to the left side is the idle cable. Right about the middle between the two is the idle adjustment bolt it faces out towards the air filter end of the carb . The engine should be at operating temperature with the enrichener off to set the idle between 950-1050 rpm. Turn the idle adjustment bolt clockwise to increases idle speed and counterclockwise to decrease idle speed. If you have access to your air fuel mixture bolt you may adjust it as well if not there is a video below on how to gain access, make sure you start with clean or new spark plugs. Gently turn the air fuel mixture bolt clockwise until it starts to bottom out "STOP" do not over tighten as it will damage the taper on the end, now back it out 2 full turns to establish a starting point start the engine and check the idle rpm's and adjust the idle adjustment bolt accordingly for 950-1050 rpm if necessary, adjust the air fuel mixture bolt 1/4 turn at a time and let the engine settle for about 10 seconds, clockwise for a leaner mixture and counterclockwise for a richer mixture you are seeking the highest rpm your air fuel mixture bolt can acquire without going past 3 full turns from bottom then readjusting the idle adjustment bolt back down to 950-1050 rpm If you can not detect any rpm change and can not stall the engine by turning the air-fuel mixture bolt all the way in then your pilot/low-speed jet is too big. Final adjustment should be made with a clean air filter mounted to the carburetor. Its idling rough

Hi.

Check idle air control system (valve, hoses and wires). Check air intake and check the sensors installed in the air intake. Check vacuum for leaks.

Those listed are the most common faults causing fast idle in this type of engine.

How to adjust carbs i screwed the throttle screw in all the way and lost track how many turns it was now it will not start

you should have 3 adjustment screws. the one marked T is throttle idle position, adjusts idle speed.Lo adjusts air-fuel mixture at low rpm,HI at high rpm.H & L should be 3/4 to 1 1/2 turns out from a lightly seated position.adjust for best rpm's at Lo,then Hi.turning idle screw in too far would not affect starting, only idle speed.
