Scraping noise I have a 1993 Honda Accord. Just recently, I have been hearing a scraping noise, sometimes when I corner and sometimes when I apply the brakes. Seems to be coming from rear axle.
Thanks Madchanic... I'll get em checked out, however, I just had state inspection done today and (supposedly) they pulled rear wheelsThanks Madchanic... I'll get em checked out, however, I just had state inspection done today and (supposedly) they pulled rear wheels

Time to get the clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing replaced. And on a car that old the pin or ball which the fork pivots should be replaced also.
Sometimes these things happen and even after servicing them they come back again..If you want to be safe then have the braking system serviced...which means removing every pad and clean everything...Once all is put back you should be fine..
The high pitched whine in reverse sounds normal for a honda. Ever honda I have had makes a similar noise while in reverse. The spinning, scraping noise in drive is not normal. You might want to see a mechanic about that.
even if you tightened the wheel bearing, it is probably worn out..
what it does when it's loose is you won't hear much noise when you drive on a strait road but the minute you put some weight on it, like when you take a curve, the weight of the body is applied on the bearing resulting in a scraping noise....
and the faster you'll drive the more noise you'll get
so let's say you take a left turn you're gonna hear noise from the right wheel...
You could be right with the wheel bearings. But first take the wheel off and check that nothing is scraping the rotor. Look all the way around the rotor. A suggestion will be that the brake pads have worn enough that the brake pad wear indicator is starting to scrape. Pry them back a little.
