There is a good chance that the "Hotwiring" has caused a failure of either the immobiliser or the ECU. The only way to be certain which is to replace them one at a time or to get them tested at a Honda dealers.

SOURCE: honda cbr 400 rr starting problem

i could not find a schematic of a 96 cbr400rr, so guessing this bike is not from the USA. however, there should be a master fuse near the battery on the positive side mounted to the battery box somewhere. i would check this fuse first to see if its burned out.

also, is battery fully charged? might have to top charge the battery to get good juice if its old (>3 years) and been sitting for a bit.

good luck.

SOURCE: 1974 honda cb550 will not run?

• The first thing to do with ANY engine that has sat for any longer than a couple of months is to dump ALL the fuel in the tank and carb(s). ALL OF IT !! You'll want to refill with some high priced fuel that has fuel system cleaners (Like Chevron with Techron) not becasue you need high-test fuel, but because you need the cleaners. It's ether that or disassemble the carbs and clean out jets you can't find much less see. Your choice. The carb kits alone will cost you about $50 so a tank of high-test is looking pretty good, huh?

• Now the fact that you tried to crank the engine with old fuel has fouled the sparkplugs. All of them. Go buy all new sparkplugs.

SOURCE: Bike: 1999 Xr 250r cross threaded spark plug poor compression

Go to your local parts store and ask for a tap..Show them your plug and they give it to you..Just be real careful threading it in..That will clean the threads up..Or use the new plug hold it as straight as possible and slowly thread it in..That will work great..Done that before..It will go back in..Just take your time and keep it straight...Have fun on your trip!!!!!!!

most likely the fuses, and/or light globes. The CDI box is for ignition and spark.

Why dont I have spark? V Star 1100 First lost my keys, had to hotwire bike, (still hotwired maybe this is the fault for no spark?) As the days passed I noticed the bike having more difficulty starting

Hi, Kahmaar nice novella sorry to hear about all your problems that were self-inflicted and yes you may have fried the ECM when jump starting with a running automobile and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting, leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or electronic control module.
7. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
8. Faulty ignition switch.
9. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
10. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

The security light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well.

Hi, I have yamaha yzf 125 r(2008) 2 days ago i washed my bike with water. After washing bike started normally as usually. But today when i wanted to start it, starter just trying to start the bike but...

Check your ignition components for condensation. If you wash the bike using water especially around the motor, you should promptly dry it thoroughly before starting it to avoid the possibility of condensation caused shorts in the ignition system. I personally use a leaf blower to dry mine and let it sit in the sun for a while to make sure it's dry. I think you will find condensation is your problem. Good luck and safe riding.

Has your bike ever been stolen or are you aware of an attempt to steal it? It sounds like the ignition switch was severely tampered with. Does the switch look like somebody tried to hammer something into it? Are any wires going to the switch pulled out? It may be a failed attempt at hotwiring.

Right off the bat I think that you need to get a replacement ignition switch installed ASAP. You may want to consider having the police look at it if it looks like there was criminal activity of some sort on your bike.

If there is any good news, it is that if you can prove that somebody messed with your bike, your insurance should cover the repairs. Good luck.

NO GAS BEING DELIVERD

check all the fuses - attempted hotwiring will have blown a few. likely you will need to do more than plug everything back in to start this bird again - immobiliser will not let this car start, it "thinks" the car is still trying to be stolen more than likely and wont start without a reset immobiliser... i'm no expert on modern security devices tho so dont take my word for it but the dealer is probably the only way to reset it. or a good garage who know plenty about ECU's and immobilisers

My first thought is low compression... which leads to a few questions...
What fuel to oil ratio have you used?
What do you mean by 'fresh top end'? To me a fresh top end includes piston and rings and cylinder bore, gaskets and crank seals. Anything less on a 2-stroke is an incomplete job and usually leads to premature failure.
Have you followed break-in procedure on your fresh top end? Double check the head bolt torque.

Do a compression check first then go from there.

Wiring problem after attempted theft/hotwire of my 1983 650 katan

I couldn't find a free PDF service manual download. A manual should have a wiring diagram. Google "service manuals suzuki". You can also go to www.repairmanuals.com and probably purchase a manual there. If you are restoring the bike, having a manual is a must. It is the only sure way to know what you may be missing and where the wires connect.

Go to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site. In the event no price is shown on a particular part, the part is not in stock. www.babbittsonline.com/pages/parts/viewbybrandand/parts.aspx

A “very helpful” rating for this answer? Thanks! < < And it doesn’t cost anything extra!

Gilera runner stolen, changed barrel/immobiliser, no spark

You definitely need to change all with a kit of : ECU, engine main switch, seat lock and you will get in the kit 3 new keys, 2 black and 1 red.The black ones need to be programmed from the red one at a dealer's workshop. Then store the red some place safe.
