2001 chevy blazer wont start when raining. will start after a lot of cranking

Check your secondary ignition system, cap, rotor, wires. I suspect either the cap has a lot of condensation in it and is not allowing spark to the plugs or the plug wires are getting wet and leaking spark before it can get to the plugs. Should be pretty easy to check after a long hard rain or if it has been some time since you last tuneup these items along with spark plugs are most likely due for replacement anyways.

Have to replace spark plugs after heavy rain on 02 dodge grand caravan sport

well when it rains really bad and water gets under your hood either it goes in your oil and you have to replace it or it gets in your air filter and in your engine to get the water out pull all the spark plugs and crank it untill there is no more water coming out then put the plugs back and dont forgot to change your air filter

Moped not starting when raining or high humidity.

on a dry day when its starting fine spray all around the spark plug with hair spray its a cheeap and easy fix it worked for my suzuki gn 125 motorcycle every few weeks it needs done but it should sort it out basically whats happening is that due to dampness the electricity must be shorting out and not throwing the full kick into the spark plug i recommend going around any electrics that sit out and spray them its a great water seal

Does not start when it rains

Check the distributor cap for cracks etc. You can usually tell it has a crack as there is a "carbon trail" on the inside. If the cap is cracked then it needs to be replaced.

When condensation forms inside the cap due to rain the electrical arc will travel across the water inside the cap instead of going to the spark plug. This is usually the most common culprit.

If this doesn't solve the problem let me know, and we'll go from there.

No spark at spark plugs and coil has tested good, there is sufficient current at pick up off the cam as well, bike ridden through hard rain and started acting up during ride and eventually shut down 10...

Sounds like the water got in somewhere crucial and is preventing the components from telling the coil to spark.

Don't laugh now, but try hitting any suspect areas with WD-40. I recently learned the WD stands for water displacing. It was initially invented as something that could remove water. But it is flammable so exercise caution.

This is surely frustrating and thankfully it doesn't happen often to Harleys. I sure hope you find the source and get it sealed.

I rode with a group of 15 bikes from south WI to the eagle rehab place up in Minnesota. It rained on us for almost 90 minutes but not one bike quit running. So, when things are sealed as they should be, Harleys can run in the rain.

Hope you get this solved and get back on the road.

In raining conditions one cylider stops firing and will occassionly kick in for one or two fires intermittantly when dry no problems

Sounds like the spark wires are dried out and cracked and losing the spark to ground. Start the bike in the dark and spray some water on the plug wires, you should see some nice blue sparks jumping around, even without spraying the water maybe.

During a ride in the rain I lose eninge power and the sound changes. Is it due to water in my intake?

I would guess that water is shorting out one of your ignition wires to one of your spark plugs.

The car runs great when it is not raining but when it rains it will not start and takes a long time to start i just replaced the cap and rotor and it ran well untill this last hard rain on this1999 dodge...

sounds like water is getting into the spot were the spark plugs are and is arking so you might want to get new wires and make sure that there is no water geting into the place were the plugs are.

No problem when fine, but when it starts to rain it is a nightmare. I can start the car when it rains but after I've drove the car, if its only down the road, it seems to get wet and won't start. It needs...

Rain going to inside...could be radiators, thermostat,.... air filter,.... spark plugs,...or alternator. Look like need replace. The motor doesn't like water. When you drove on downhill?

Or... its cold start? could be throttle or carby need lubricant spray. Spark plugs need new aswell or clean. For start up to quick.
