Question about 1979 Honda CX 500 A
I have a 1979 Honda CX500 that does not have a clutch cable. I am going to get one and try to put it on myself if it is not a tough job. Is this something I can do myself? I got the bike used dirt cheap but it has parts that must be replaced before it is good to go. Thank you all for helping me fix the keyed ignition switch. I fixed that today, hopefully. I am looking to get a Clymer manual for it next week.

you will have to do some leg work to find compatable forks. here in toronto we have a few good places that stock tons of old bikes..im sure you can get a front end that fits, take off the trees with the forks and go shopping

SOURCE: 1987 yz125 clutch not working!
If you can see the actuator moving, but not disengaging the clutch, it usually means that the clutches are hanging up in the basket, or the actuator is bad and not releasing the clutches. The only way to tell is to take off the clutch cover and watch what happens when you pull the clutch.
