Question about Suzuki Motorcycles

Seized engine so i have an 07 GSX-r 1000, just come off the hiway, and temp was at 77, everything sounded normal and then the back wheel locked up, pulled in clutch engine stopped, let clutch out wheel lock up again.. pulled top of engine apart, all normal, pulled clutch and all normal, pulled oil pan, nothing to declare.. no metal filings in oil, oil smells normal and not burnt.. i know its not the transmission cause it rolls over in neutral but will not start, tried putting a breaker bar on front sprocket assembly, will not budge. 2 questions, what would have caused this seizure and what could be seized inside?

Could possibly be Crank shaft, crank bearing, or dropped a valve. Im assuming when you say it wont start, you mean it wont even turn over. If you say the drive sprocket wont turn then someting is stopping the crank shaft from turning. You will need to explore more of the engine to find the exact problem. Workshop manuals can be found online and downloaded if you look about, they will tell you exactly how to strip the engine down.

Testimonial: "yes sorry, that is correct, the engine would not crank over. is it possible that the oil pump failed? just thinking cause it happened so fast with no warning. the bike also only has 23,860kms or 14,900 miles on it.regular oil changes with proper oil specific for bikes. seems premature for a catastrophic failure like this."

possibly but there should be a lock on the chain if think there has to be a way to adjust it id re look the chain and if not id get the dimentions of the chain and look for one on the net but make sure this one has a lock unless it will rattle so much that the lock will fail and the cain will come undone and that could cause one hell of a wreck or a ride bud

no use changhing the piston / rings / sleeve .,you need to split the engine and replace the crankshaft and con rod bearings.although renew the piston kit complete..

HI, I had a 2002 gsx600f, pretty much the same bike and I let a buddy of mine ride it and he came back with the oil pan cracked, turned out he tryed to ride a few wheelies on it and upon one of the landings the weight of the bike actually cracked the oil pan, they are extremly heavy compared to other sport bikes on the market. Ive never heard of an oil pan just cracking, more then likely it was user error.

The bike has a sidestand interlock that prevents you from riding away with the kickstand down. That interlock is not functioning properly. Could have been bent or moved, unplugged, or perhaps the relay has failed. If physically activating the switch does not work, and connecting the wires with a jumper does not work start looking at the turn signal relay, some bikes have that circuit integrated into the relay.

I have Had this problem ! check the fuses under rear seat 2 Mine will only start if Kick stand is up and third engine shut off switch is not all the way down

I can't turn the ignition key at all. I tried wiggling the steering wheel and still nothing. The wheels were straight when I parked and nothing was wrong. Everything is locked.

if the steering wheel for sure is not locked then it sounds like your ignition lock cylinder is seized up-you will have to replace it

Was riding ttr125 down road then rear wheel looked up. cant move kickstart at all. has it seized motor ?

It does sound like the engine has locked up, sorry.If you pull in the clutch does the rear wheel turn? If it does that means the engine has seized.

When starting K3 GSX1000R ,red light (oil) stays illuminated & F.1 displays where temp is... what does it mean

Your oil light should be light up when bike is not running with the key on and when starting the bike. This is perfectly normal.

1998 mitsubishi mirage and it has been parked for about 3 months outside in rain/snow/freezing temps. now the rear wheels are seized up and will not turn. engine runs and Fron wheels work fine, rear wheels...

no get a rubber mallet and un bolt the bolts and give the wheel (not the tyre) a whack with the rubber mallet and the wheel should come off then bolt it all back up and try it then

p.s. dont use a metal or wooden mallot or hammer as the wheel will shatter
