SOURCE: back fire on suzuki sv650s

you have to tune your engine using the following ways.
1. tune your fuel air screw for optimal settings.(in most cases inappropriate tuning is the reason for backfires)
2. check and clean your spark plug and the wire connecting your spark plug.
3. check the voltage levels of the battery. if they are low then recharge them.

SOURCE: Suzuki RM 85 exhaust valve adjustment

I will come back to you with the method for adjusting this.
If you set the power valve to open at a higher rpm or restrict the vavle from opening to its maximum then your problem will be solved.

If you do the latter though you will definately lose your power at high rpm.

Your discription indicates a bent shift fork in the gearbox. The engine will need to be torn down then the center case will need to be split to get to the forks. Bummer. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

Rmz 250 valve problems

Yes, it is a valve problem. It sounds like a weak intake valve is dishing / stretching due to overheating. The exhaust valves are made to better withstand the heat. Check for cooling problems when you replace and seat a new valve.

The silcolene does not burn as well as standard two stroke oil. The unburned oil has to go somewhere and out the exhaust is it. Get a new gasket anyway. It should help.

It will not necessarily hurt anything but it is not quite right. Be sure th shut off the gas when not riding the bike. Check and be sure the gas valve is shutting off the gas fully.
