Question about Motorcycles
I wired some foglights in the harness for this ms weather little did i know the wires melted togerther! it kept giving me problems popping the main and light fuses so i wrapped em in tinfoil so it would crank and stay runnng! duuuuuh dumb move i know. well it broke down on me lukily i have roadside assistance!! i thought maybe i burnt the coils up so orderd used ones from winsconsin cycle salvage. Still not firing even with the new coils or slightly used. i cheked the pluggins for continuity an they al seem to chek out? thought maybe i fried the icu but it cheks out for continuity also no broke circuits??the bike has no brain cause its so old just that ignition control unit! but as i said i chekce it for continuity at teh plug and it seems fine.and also the backs of the replacement coils r getting power the bike JUST WANT FIRE???!!! AND BTW ITS ELECTRIC START! any cheks or recomendations as to where to analyze next would b most (HELPFULL!!!!! sicerely bewilere byronkinsey!!!! ps. its electric start so it has no points! any lea d would me most helpfull!!!! thanks so very mcuh!!

I think for sure that the timing belt has jumped a tooth. This can happen if your water pump, or your idler pulley, which are driven by the timing belt, "locks up" for a second. Best advice: replace the timing belt (you should not "reuse" it, as once it slips a tooth, that tooth is now weakend. Also, check the feel of the water pump impeller-gear...if it feels gritty or does not spin freely, replace the water pump while you are in there. It's not much more work. Also check the IDLER pulley for the same feel. If it feels bad/does not spin free, replace it. One or the other caused your problem.

any wires not plugged into there respective places, any sensors the old engine had that this one don't, did you use the old distributor for your coil setup,I think it might be, luck

for testing, there are some u-tube videos that show each circuit being tested under load. 5v, sensor ground, and sensor signal. need a good meter to check those"hall effect switch" sensors.after trying evrything, THEN buy a pcm and get it flashed with the update. WOT during crank for tests unless u want to disable the fuel pump at the relays for the time of ckp and cam tests
