To down shift you keep 'kicking' it down at least 4 times ( more doesn't matter? and that will put you in First gear. Then put you toes under teh shifter and lift it up a bit fro neutral. If you lift too hard you will be back in Second.

Does anyone know the solution for fixing a mitsubishi galant 1997 gearbox that wont go in to reverse or second gear

There's a very good chance it is simply a worn, and/or ''out of adjustment'' linkage. Lay under the car (with the emergency brake on and with ''chucks'' stopping the wheels. If you need to jack it up, make _sure_ you use jack stands). Have someone try to go through the shift pattern (Rev, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc...). Watch the linkage, you may actually see where it is jamming. It is _highly_ probably it is simply an adjustment. (You can even try tapping _lightly_ with a hammer to ''help'' it go into gear). Once you've figured out what parts need to move where _and why_, your ''mind's eye'' will see what needs to be where and what needs adjusting.

Just one thing. _Don't_ have your hands anywhere near it when someone is going through the pattern. Only physically touch it when it is _not_ being moved by your helper. (You _can_ do the light hammer thing while someone is shifting).

Best of luck...

My ttr 125 makes a clicking noise only in first gear and only when some one is on it if the bike is on a stand noise stops and bike works perfectly

Hi, Braydenw22 I would love to help you with your engine or chassis noise but I just loaned my brand new pair of listening ears to your local dealer's chief technician so he could take your bike for a test ride and give you his professional opinion and estimate about your noise and repair cost. If you are a little short on "DRACHMA" and a Dealership is not on your list of fun places to visit then perhaps the list below will help soothe your worried mind so you can make an informed decision.
1. Bearings---SCREECH
2. Belts---CHIRP
3. Brake Rotors---BUZZ
4. Chains---RATTLE
5. Clutches---CHATTER
6. Shifting Trans---CLUNK
7. Gears---WHINE
8. Front Forks---PLUNK
9. Rear Shocks---SQUEAK
10. Starters---CLICK
11. Solid Lifters---TICK
12. Hydraulic Lifters---TAP
13. Pistons---SLAP
14. Connecting Rods Go---KNOCK-KNOCK---who's there, it's me "*****"

How to set crown + pinion gears on 1982 dodge ram

you adjust the backlash and pinion depth by add or removing shims from the side bearings and from under the large pinion bearing, here is a pattern chart, you will need to get some pattern past and put on the gears then turn the pinion and check the pattern on the gears keep adding or removing shims until you have the pattern correct.....good luck\

P.S. I cant recommend doing this job by yourself get some help from someone who has done this before, 9 out of 10 people who try this repair will destroy the rear end, if the pinino depth is to deep you will brake the ring gear if to shallow the rear end will make so much noise you can't drive it.

I have a Sony Ericcson Xperia mini pro, and I'm locked out of it as I cannot remember my pattern or question answer. Please can someone help me?

There is a default safety measure here. If you enter your pattern wrong a number of times the phone will then ask you for your "Gmail" password. From there you enter your password and it will then ask you to create a new pattern.
Let me know if this helps. Dan

Okay so I have a 2003 Yamaha TTR-125 dirtbike, it is NOT electric start, it is kick-start. All of the plastics were replaced so I do not have the original stickers on it with the model, therefore I forgot...

There is a frame number stamped on the frame neck. If you call a dealer they can look up the year and model using an ID microfiche. Next to the stamped frame number there should be a riveted plate with the VIN number on it . If this plate is still on your frame it also has the model number and the model year of the motorcycle clearly printed on it. All Yamaha dealers have the ability to ID your machine using the Vehicle Identification Number.
