There is a switch that turns the brake light on that is connected to the rear brake foot pedal...check the wiring on this switch and if the wiring is ok, then you will need to test the switch to see if it is good...you can test the switch with a continuity tester...or have someone with one check it for you....the guys at autozone have these testers if you cannot obtain one...anyway, the switch will show open when the bike is just standing there and it should show closed when you depress the brake footpedal
