Different on different bikes but in general make sure the bike is connected to the neg on battery, from engine or frame. if unsure make a temporary connection from engine mount bolt to battery negative to see if that works

04 mitsubishi lancer. I turn the key but it just clicks an nothing more. I check the batt. its good, had the starter checked and it passed so id like to kmow is there something else that I can check

Check the condition of the battery cables. Corrosion of the wire can cause the problem you describe.

In particular, check the cleanliness and tightness of the earth lead - the black cable - where it attaches to the bodywork/engine block. If the vehicle can't earth properly it can cause starting problems.

If you have booster cables try connecting the black booster cable to the engine block - to create an alternative earth. If your car starts it points towards a 'bad earth' from the vehicle battery.

Lei 125 quad will not start. There's a clicking sound from solenoid. I replaced all wiring and electrics, any ideas?

If your getting a clicking noise from the solenoid it could be either the solenoid is faulty regardless if new or not,

The starter motor is defective (this can be checked);

Or more likely a bad earth contact point either the starter motor it self as they are normally earthed via the engine through the frame via a thickish black earth lead, could be snapped internally /missing or corroded contacts. starter motor contact mounting points and bolts corroded.

If your installing something new to your bike and it says to connect it to earth it usually means they want you to connect it to the frame of the bike. FYI earth/negative is connected to the frame at a few points depending on the bike.

My headlight and my turn signals stop working but all my other lights still work and ive checked fuses relays harnesses bulbs and ive also checked the switcg

have you checked the main earth points dont know your model but usually if they all fail on one side then the earth is the fault. if the fuse fine and relays then the earth is the fault.
usually earths are near the head lights and under the battery on one of the frames there will be a cluster of them head lights side usaly one or 3 on the earthing point.

Where is engine ground strap

ground straps on engines are either from the battery earth post to the engine or to a body point . If it is to a body earth point the engine earth strap will be around an engine mount. From the engine bolt around the rubber to the body mount bolt. probably on the mount closest to the battery

Hi all I've got an earth issue don't know much about bikes I've got a kmx 125 b12 I know their rare thats what it says on the logbook, all I want to know is where abouts is the earth that goes in the frame...

Most systems are the same the negative of the battery is connected to the frame by a heavy 60amp cable,
quite close to the battery, the engine is bolted to the frame 'so that gets an earth', then earths are connected to the frame or engine as required, earth wires are generally grouped to earth points to frame, ie: under tank near head stock, under seat near back light cluster. Hope this helps

Where are the earthing points on the frame/ engine

frame or engine should be connected to negative on battery. therefore connect to the frame or engine and you have your earth. If you think the earth is faulty make a temporary connection from engine mount to battery negative to see if that works

Where is the electrical system chasis ground on a 2000 Triumph Sprint ST? It looks like the negative cable from the battery disappears into the wiring harness. I want to check the soundness of the ground...

Comes from the battery negative terminal to frame and repeats at points around frame, ie headstock for electrical fittings. Any proplems just fix a wire from battery neg and put to earth point anywhere you suspect is bad earth. if then works, problem solved.

Turn signals

Hi ..... Do you mean the indicator/turn signal or the turn signal modual ?
No flashing (but illuminated) usually means a bad (or no) earth. Try placing a wire (with stripped ends) against the indicator and a good earthing point ie the frame or engine.
Let us know how you get on.
