What is it that if I start the ignition switch the neutral light is low and my head lights?

I am assuming you checked to make sure the battery is charged? When my ignitions switch went bad it showed signs of failure first I had to jiggle the key to get it to work. That being said it could be the switch, it is a very simple change and if you get an after market switch not that expensive. The Harley switch is $40.00 I got an after market for around $15.00.

well i would try the switch and see and if that doesnt work then check the wiring for a loose connection or ground or maybe it could be as ez as checking the light bulb it might be loose in the socket

Hi. I had the same issues as what your saying. What we found was that the leads are a screw in into the spark plug cap. Unscrew the leads to the cap, trim the ends off by a mm or 2 and re-screw back into cap that goes onto spark plug. There renown for pulling out and giving weak or no spark.

Probably time for a new battery. But first, check to be sure that water covers the top of the battery plates. Add water if needed.

I have a 1977 kawasaki kz650 that i just bought found that the battery was dead and jumped it but still have no power no lights nothing what could be the problem


Hi, Steven before testing any electrical component in the Starting System it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
4. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
5. FOB battery low or dead.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand, clutch, neutral safety switch.
9. Security alarm needs a reset.
10. Starter relay, solenoid, starter motor or circuit wiring faulty.
11. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
12. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
13. Faulty ignition relay.
14. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
15. Check for engine trouble codes.

Can you change a 1991 Kawasaki KH 125 from 6v to 12v? The rotor is the same part number so would it just be the four pin regulator rectifier to change. Will the points and condenser will be the same


Any electronics would have to be changed . Not familiar with that unit but if it has a cdi box that would change as well as any lights and the charging system. ..not just the rectifier.

its also my problem with my fury 125, drain the fuel in the carbureutor unscrew it until water will come out,, once it changes to red or green screw it,, then kick start it will be ok,,, or unplug the spark, clean it then kick without the spark plug to squirt out all the dirt or water then put the spark plug kick start vroomm,,

I have a 2000 yz 125 and it would start. i have


  • Start with a new spark plug. Do you see spark? If not, check the side stand kill switch. It kills the engine so that you don’t start out with the side stand down. If broken or out of adjustment, it would kill the spark. Check for a broken wire at the side stand switch and coupler. Try moving the kill switch by hand. If that doesn’t work then wire a jumper around the switch to bypass it.
  • Drain the Carb then refill it. Only twist the throttle one time in ten kicks. Extra gas pumps in on every twist of the throttle. Twist too often and flooding happens.
  • Check the fuses. How good is the battery? Is the handlebar kill switch on? Is the Neutral light on?
  • Check the operation of the ignition switch and all kill switches with a volt ohmmeter. Check the wiring harness. Did a wire come unplugged? Are all wires clean and with solid connections? Any abraded or pinched wires? Is the bike in neutral and the neutral light is lit up? If no neutral light, check the neutral switch and neutral switch wire on center casing. If still no spark, get CDI system and coils checked at the dealers shop.
  • Got gas and is it turned on? Clean air filter?
  • Carb, head and intake manifold mounted tight?
  • Does the carb intake manifold have reeds? What condition are they in?
