Your petcock could be bad try a pingel for a sure fix. Also check your vent on top of the gas tank, they become clogged a small piece of wire will clear it be sure you can **** air out of it. Unless your problem is electrical these may fix the problem.

SOURCE: 99 gsxr 750 losing power after 10k rpm if you have

The carburetor jets, there are 3 bands; A low, mid range and high range rpms. 10k would fall in the Mid range power. I would let the bike warm up a little bit and tweak the middle knob on the left side of the bike and keep in mind you need the right mixture so turn it quarter turn one way at a time per testing the mid range rpms while riding, tweaking 1/4 turns in between tests. If it gets worse, turn it the other direction until you find that sweet spot in the mixture of fuel/oxygen. SOURCE: I have a 05 gsxr 750 and it kinda idle's low. how

Trying to adjust the tickover on the carbs is a pain ,you will need a set of carb balancers .My sugestion is to remove your tank ,and adjust the cable from the trottle which controles the throttle bar which connects to all the carbs .adjust to what revs you want .its that simple .

run a can of Seaforam in the tank..purchase from Autozone put in 1/3 to two gallons gas drive it around for at least 10 miles to insure it cleans out the whole carb system.if that doesnt work, check all carb hose fittings when bike is at idle spray some Chemtool B-12 ( also at Autozone) around the carb hoses and manifolds..if idle increses thats your problem. Caution: chemtool is very toxic wear gloves and a mask.

Hi, Chrisrose100 and the usual suspects are:
1. Spark plugs in bad condition or partially fouled.
2. Spark plug cables in bad condition and leaking check for spark leakage in the dark.
3. Spark plug gap too close or too wide.
4. Faulty ignition coil, module, and or sensor.
5. Battery nearly discharged.
6. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
7. Intermittent short circuit due to damaged wire insulation.
8. Intake air leak.
9. Water, dirt, or rust in the fuel system, fuel pump and/or filter.
10. Old dead or bad fuel.
11. Faulty fuel pressure regulator
12. Pinholes in the in tank plastic convoluted tubing from the pressure regulator to the quick disconnect check valve.
13. Fuel tank vent system plugged.
14. Throttle body controls misadjusted.
15. Damaged throttle body or intake seals.
16. Loose, dirty, or corroded ignition module connector at crankcase.
17. Faulty TPS, MAP, CKP, O2, and/or CMP sensors.
18. Incorrect valve timing.
19. Weak or broken valve springs.
20. Damaged intake or exhaust valve'
21. Control module may be in "LIMP" mode
22. Check for engine trouble codes.

97 gsxr 750 doesn't idle back down

Throttle cable maybe the culprit if carbies are 100% good. Check length of cable for kinks, squashing or undue wear on shroud. Does throttle grip snap back at all steering angles. Ball end of cable in twist grip maybe binding in the grip housing, cable often bunches at cable end from severe bending to get it in or out of slot.
Double-check the starting plunger is not loose, and throttle adjuster rotates freely for all carbs.
Check again (I know, it's a hassle) needle jets are all rising and dropping smoothly and in unison. A needle out of sync (on wrong notch) will effect idle speeds.
Tip: If engine revs high and you load engine (in first, slow clutch release, no throttle) and bike stalls, your problem is confined to one carby. If it's got some grunt (won't stall) you have issues with all of them...generally.
Cheers.

I have a GSXR 750 fuel injected model 1997 I bought for track use only. The problem is that despite fitting a pwer commander the bike will not hold a constant throttle at 7000 rpm its as if there is a rev...

hopefully you don't have a TRE (timing ****** eliminator) on it, if you do take it off, removing it ill make it easier to hold a smooth rpm especially in a turn. Also, the first generation power commander is ****. You can take it off that bike and most likely get the same results on the dyno. Those bikes self adjust whether you put a slip on or full system it and the first generation power commanders were still experimental. I've taken one off of a problematic race bike and personally had better results and faster lap times. I used to road race, now just do track days. I've always owned gixxers and still have 2.

You have two coils on the bike. I would start by checking the coil for the non working cylinders. Trace the spark plug wires back to the coil from cylinders 1 & 2.

Check the tank for water or crud. Also drain the carbs to make sure the floats aren't obstructed.
