please excuse if some of these questions sound foolish. this bike was bought as a first bike and had no manual and owner since moved away. so we are working a little blind on the problems

Without the fairings the plugs should be pretty accessible. Get a new set of stock plugs from the dealer. Since you are already there anyway, have them show you how to install the new plugs.. Talk to them about the starting problem and get their thoughts.

All the more reason to visit the dealer. Since you are new to bikes, ask them to show you the owner maintenance that you should be doing. Don't be bashfull. ask them " Where is that part? How is that done? How can I tell if I need to get a new part? " They will be glad to give you an education on the simple stuff.

Did you replace the gas? Use a gas stabilizer? Have you changed the fuel filter? Very important if you are letting a gas powered engine sit for any length of time. I suggest removing the tank, or if you can do it with the tank in place, flush it out, and replace the fuel filter.

I have a 1995 Honda CBR 600 f3. I was told not to put Stabil in the fuel tank for winter storage. Is this correct? What should I be using?

Stabil is fine, The other option is to not turn on the fuel to the engine, and syart it and let it run out of gas. If you have fuel bowl drain plugs, drain the fuel bowel.

Engine will not turn over, clicking sound

Three things cause your problem:

1. Dirty terminals

2. Battery flat or not holding charge (Cactus)

3. Starter motor has had it and all it can do is click the solenoid in and out.

Solution: Take it to an auto-electrician and he will diagnose your problem in a few seconds and rarely charges for this service. OR, you could attempt to jump start it from another bike, if it is the battery, it will turn over.

CBR 600 F3 1996, stored for 4 years

It might be a good idea to flush everything out with clean oil. And maybe clean the oil filter. And clean the crankcase and stuff.
