SOURCE: hey.. i'm seriously confused of d gear system..

The tank capacity for the 180 DTS-i is 15 liters, the reserve is 1 liter, the total capacity therefore is 16 liters. The gears work like this, from neutral, first gear is down, thereafter all gears are up, there are five gears for the Pulsar. neutral can be found by tapping the gearlever all the way down, then softly one up, sometimes the bike goes to second gear when doing this, but mostly it will go to neutral

I think ur gear shift is not normal i.e according to the speed. Shift gears according to the recommended speed. This will helps from preventing the pre worning out of the chain. And also improves ur mileage.

Hi, I am not able to start my pulsar 180cc. It

Hi, Aditya and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Bank angle sensor tripped and ignition/light key switch not cycled to the "OFF" position and then back to the "ON" position.
5. Security alarm needs a reset.
6. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Electric starter shaft pinion gear is not engaging or over-running starter clutch slipping.

Am usin pulsar 180...while changin the gear some noise is comin from chain lik crushin........and in 5th gear my chain is gettin shaked......

Make sure the rear wheel is in line with the front one and that the chain is running straight. Then check the entire chain run for a stiff link. Either of these things will give the symptoms you describe.

Usually the noice at this juncture is due to the chain. See if you can tighten the chain or get it replaced, which should make the bike flow smooth.

The shifting problem is due to bent shift forks. This is a major repair and not recommended for the novice mechanic. As to the front wheel, the prior owner may have bent the wheel rim. Have the shop look at the wheel when they fix the transmission.

I speak from experience, I have a 180cc Pulsar, me and my wife both travelled on the 180cc together, we commuted approx. 100km daily and had fuel efficiency of approx 35km/l on the 180cc, I think you might still get about 30km/l on the 220cc, if it is only you travelling on the bike, the 180's top speed(with a bigger front sproket, 17 instead of 15) was about 125km/h(not pussing it in the red)
Hope this help to make up your mind, personally I would go for the 220 if it is speed you want
