Honda xr80 was riding and still start but stuck in 6 gear and will not select down gears

Honda xr80 2002 had been start for 12 mouths it started up 2nd kick when for a little ride got to top gear and will not select down gears.

If you are carefull with splendor it can deliver you Good Mileage but if you play with it then it will drop like any thing. my friend who have passion with 80KM PL got only 33KM PL when he did some extraordinary stuff (bit off roading through the backyard and some ticks with the bike ) so be care full and go between 65-75 to get a descent mileage.

a four stroke will pop and backfire under decelleration when it is lean, or not enough fuel. (Jetting too small in the carburator) But, look at the spark plug for color, white is too lean, black is too rich, and chocolate is just right. Make sure the air filter is good and clean. And lastly... have the valves been adjusted?

Maybe not your answer but.If the bike has sat around for a while,the clutch plates can stick together.Not all,but some.This makes gear selection hard and as you describe,once things warm up,it gets better.When I said about sitting around,I meant for a period of a few months or so at one time.Hope this helps

Honda 125 innova kick start problem


Picture a lawnmower. Pull the starter cable with the lawnmower on its side. Envision the movement being the same on the kick start. Removal of the cylinder housing requires removal of the starter arm. Many scenarios the arm connects to a gear with a bolt. Recommend bike shop. So as not to damage gear.

When it's in gear, does the engine seem to bog or creep forward? 1rst is the "hardest" gear for your tranny to accommodate, your clutch may need adjustment. With a little thought a person can visualize how the handle and cable "pull" in the clutch, and add a little more action to it. I always recommend buying a service manual from say amazon for example. It's the best $$ you'll ever spend keeping your ride up to par.
Eliminating inadequate clutch release I'd suspect a bent shifting fork or binding in the tranny which always means the engine will have to come out and crack the case. Best of luck to you

There is a kick start gear that goes on them often if not kicked properly all the time. ., pull case check for damage ( metal chips flakes broken gears teeth ext ext ) see if that's it ., dose it shift through the gears dose it run if pop started , careful starting it as if it's running and there is damaged kick start gears that could cause a lot more damage...?.

This problem may have many reason but you can try one of the solutions, when suddenly engine stops and kick rod is going smooth without resistance try push and start by directly in 2nd gear or 1st gear and after it starts keep the engine running by giving small revs for a min....

'06 vtx 1300 c : engine dies when put into gear


You have one of two things going on. (1) You need to check the kick stand switch, your bike thinks the kick stand is still down. It may have been loosened out of adjustment by vibration. If the kick stand switch is out of whack, it will restart as long as the clutch in pulled in. But as soon as you try to let out the clutch it will kill the engine, if it is in gear. (2) Next problem could be, you need to loosen up the clutch cable a little bit, The clutch control on the handle bar has a screw type of adjuster (clutch cable passes through it ), try loosening it till it's easy for you to move the bike without the engine shutting off. HOW DO I SHIFT A 2003 KX 250


pull your clutch in on the left handlebar push the shifter lever down and let you clutch out slowly while giveing the bike a lil bit of gas. But if you don't know how to ride i wouldn't be jumping on a kx 250

Bike wont start, lights come on, has gas, wont kick start either


1st is all the way down, neutral is between 1st and 2nd. Sometimes hard to find.
The problem is probably a dead battery. Try to start it using a jumper cable off the car (if you know how) Get some help from someone who knows something about motorcycles.
Please have your son take some kind of lessons before he rides much. I don't want to cast a pall on his fun but he will be better off. (And live longer)
