Motorcycle running a little hot

I just put a yashimura R-77 full exhaust on my 08 suzuki GSX-R 600 and now it seams to be running a little hot. At what temp is the fan supposed to turn on?

I do have a PCIII. It gets up to about 230 in traffic. the fan used to kick on at about 217.

try what the others have suggested.... with jetting, also make sure pc is all correct, my 08 gsxr 600 fans kicks on at 220 f exactly.

not surprising if you haven't properly re-jetted for the exhaust. a full yosh system is going to make your bike run lean and lean = hot.
it needs more fuel to mix with the extra air.
what jetting changes have you made so far?
andwhat temp is it reading now?

did you remove the cat box as well ? since you said full exhaust, if you removed the catilytic converter box as well when installing you will def. want to go pick up a power commander

did you re-jet when you added the exhaust?

running lean will make it run hot, can even make exhaust glow.

The fan comes on around 212, when you put a full exhaust, the bike needs more fuel it needs a remap. They say that the stock computer can be flashed but you need a power commander and a BMC race air filter

If I do full headers and exhaust on my 08 Suzuki gsxr 600, do I need to do additional upgrades

Hello,

Yes, your carbs will have to be tuned to your exhaust - this, usually, means upgrading the needles/seats in your carbs. I bought a Cobra exhaust system for my Suzuki (earlier model) and it came with the upgrade kit for my carbs.

Some people are happy adjusting the jets out further and living with poor fuel mileage, fouling plugs and lousy performance.

Do some research by calling your parts dealer and ask them if they have the carb kit for the exhaust you are wanting to buy. I use one of two online dealers; Bike Bandit or Old Bike Barn

Hope this helps. If you find this information useful, please vote on this post. Thank you.

I just installed a KR Tuned exhaust on my 2008 gsxr 600. The FI light stays on after putting on the full exhaust.

did you replace the o2 sensor?, might need a remap of the ECU to find the right fuel mixture. Change the air filter, K&N or something similar to get more air in. bunch of possibilities really

Top speed 2005 Suzuki GSX R 600?

It depends on weither or not you have any aftermarket stuff put on the bike. My 600 will do 182 but that is with a power commander, acceleration kit, k&n air induction kit, k&n filter, and having it dyno tuned. My buddys stock 600 will do about 166 mph
