Question about 1998 kawasaki VN 1500 Vulcan Classic
Have no spark, heard about the anti theft in the switch and needing 9 volts out of the gray wire???? Is that 9 volts or higher or just 9 volts for it to spark. I bought a new switch and I'm still not getting a spark and I'm getting 12 volts out of the gray wire.....Please help...I'm soooo lost
Hello look at the kickstand if you have a alarm switch on the motorcycle it will be a switch near the kickstand maybe that is broken and it will not let you get a spark, follow the cable that goes to the switch and unplug the cable then in that cable it will be 2 wires just tape them together and it should work, you should get the service manual for the vn1500 vulcan from the below link it will help you when u have other problems:

SOURCE: No ignition spark
Check your fuses haven't blown and the plugs are all pushed in tight. You may have a scorched plug failing that but that only really comes from using a booster.....a nail file can cure that though.
Is your starter motor working? If not attempt to bump start it, but make sure it's in 2nd gear.
