Happens all the time. Let me guess, front brake handle? WD-40. Then remove the microswitch from the handle. Then wash it down with solvent and spray some more WD-40 on it. I end up pulling mine off to clean it about twice a season.

89 acura legend tail lights stuck on. how to fix?

Tail lights or brake lights? Most common is the brake light switch stopper breaks off so the brake light switch doesn't shut off. This is above the brake pedal. Look on the floor for small broken plastic pieces. The stopper is only a few dollars, pretty easy to pop in place.

FZR600 brake lights stuck

Hi, Anonymous before diagnosing any brake light issue always check the bulb and fuse first for integrity a brake light staying on is usually caused by the front brake light switch, which is mechanical, not disengaging. On early models moving the throttle control housing closer to the front brake master cylinder is the main fix. On late models, the switch gets tweaked and needs to be realigned. A brake light that does not come on when the brake lever is applied can be caused by a faulty switch or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. The rear brake light switch is hydraulic and it is extremely rare to malfunction in a closed circuit condition causing the brake light to stay on. Usually, rear brake light switch issues are caused by no brake pedal free play or a sticky rear master cylinder piston. A brake light that does not come on when the rear brake pedal is depressed can be caused by a faulty switch, air contamination in the brake line, or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. Brake lights won't work

-Bulb is good...?
-If so check the push in (On/Off switch) Just above the brake pedal arm. It might be stuck. If it's not stuck, replace new one.

1994sidekick stuck in park

check to see if the brake lights come on when you press brake pedal. if they don't it is stuck in park because your brake light switch doesn't work and the swich also tells the shifter lock to unlock so you can move shifter. so If no brake lights fix brake light switch and that will fix it. the switch is located at the top of brake pedal

Brake lights stuck on

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. More then likely, your brake switch is stuck. The brake switch turns the brake lights on and off, assisted by the brake pedal. The pedal hits the brake switch. There is a small button on the end. It may be stuck. Try messing with it to see if that helps. If not, change the brake switch and it should solve your issue Tim. Thanks for choosing FixYa. If you have a question, post back.

The bulbs on all brake lights are good, they've all been changed but when you brake they don't come on. The car is stuck in Park it does not let you change to any other gear it is stuck and does not budge.

Okay, this sounds like a bad brake light fuse aaaaor the brake light switch is bad, the switch is loctaed on the top of brake pedal bracket, if you follow the pedal up you will see the switch, if you unplug it andd jump the two wires the light should come on for the brakes if they do then replace the switch, this is why you are stuck in park, it going to be a fuse or the switch. hope this helps.
