They sell octagon shaped oil filter wrench that conforms to your oil filter's shape. Take your replacement oil filter, then call the auto parts store in your area and ask if they carry oil filter wrench for your car, If a standard filter wrench keeps slipping off, wrap 2 or 3 layers of rag to the old oil filer, then attach the oil filter wrench. The drain plug turns left to loosen, right to tighten. If you're using a socket wrench, attach a 1/2-inch pipe to the handle to increase leverage (cheater pipe). Another solution is a strap oil filter wrench

Moto guzzi 650 gt -gearbox whine in 5th gear at 50-60 mph any previous?regards


Guzzi is one great bike shy the gear box whine, I've worked on a handful of Guzzi and almost all of them have it. It does seem to get louder as the bike gets older. Keep a GOOD oil in it and shouldnt have any problems. Amsoil makes some of the best motorcycle oil i have found and that would be what i would run in it. During your next oil change check out the gears while you have the pan off to change your oil filter. Everything is easy to see and look at. How much litters oil need to change on fiat brava 1.2 16v with oil filter


My info is that it should take 2,8 litres with oil filter and it should be full synthetic oil grade 5w40. Hope that helps

Fiat brava oil warning light wont go off


<grin> I don't know why or how this ended up under the category of Fiat 2006 X1/9 - I'd like to have one but I think I will have to be satisfied with my '87 Bertone instead-
I would highly recommend you have a shop replace the sensor (very soon!) with a pressure gauge to measure the pressure directly to make certain you aren't dealing with a failed or obstructed oil pump. This will only take a few minutes and shouldn't cost much. If your engine isn't clattering, I suspect the replacement sensor isn't any good either.

Oil warning light on a brava car wont go off


Best would be is to measure the oil pressure out put.
Sometimes the oil filter could be the culprit.
Was the oil warning light staying 'on; prior to the oil and filter change?..If not thn the first thing to check is to replace the oil filter ..its better to install the 'original' one .

recommened filters and oil.drain oil.remove oil filter replace with new,afte all oil has drianed refill to reccomendatios.check tranny gear oil .new plugs

Guzzi sometimes won't go into neutral


Sounds like a slightly bent shift fork. But start with a oil and oil filter change. Dirt and grit in the oil can cause the same problem. If the problem gets worst you will need to replace the bad fork. This is a very involved project and bets done in the shop.

i always just put some on the o-ring before i put it back in but no you dont need to have oil on it,

and with the V50 I thought I'd achieved my ambition. It was oiltight to begin with but not long after I'd done a bit of maintenance (oil and air filter change) I started noticing drips underneath - coming from the pipe that dangles from the air filter unit (yes it still has the original [expletive-deleted] item). For a while I ignored it as there were so many other jobs needing to be sorted, but it has just got worse. After a long trip, parking it is embarrassing - especially as everyone knows that Guzzis are oiltight . . . Now it seems to me that the oil could have come from one of three places - the crankcase, or either of the rocker boxes, as all of their breather pipes go to the underside of the air filter chamber. I therefore detached the existing pipes to the rockerboxes, stopped up their ends, and ran new breather pipes from the rockerboxes to vent under the bike. I reckoned that, with three pipes dangling underneath (Sherlock Holmes' three-pipe problem?), I should be able to see which part of the machine was responsible. With me so far? Did a 21-mile trip this morning, put it back up on its stand and waited. Result - oil drips from all three pipes! Thinks: when bought, the oil level was only just above minimum on the dipstick. When I changed the oil, I filled it to the max level - and someone has suggested that this is the cause of the problem. I therefore drained some oil out, and it's now at the half-way mark though without any effect on the oil drips. I'm reluctant to drain more, though that might be the next step. If it does effect a cure, would that point to some other, underlying problem? Any ideas or suggestions welcome, as at the moment this machine is not living up to the Guzzi reputation.,The breather system on the V50 works in a peculiar way. The two pipes from the rocker covers are the main engine breathers. They go into a chamber in the air filter housing, and the tube from there to the crankcase is actually a return pipe, to get the oil recovered from the breather back into the sump. On mine, I am sure the breather then goes into the air box behind the carbs, and I didn't think I had another pipe dangling down. Certainly too much oil in the sump can cause problems in most Guzzis.,,,
