Question about 2004 Triumph America

Open Question

Engine crash bars or Leg Guards

I would like to place an engine dresser bar or (leg guard) so that I don't damage the engine and save my legs from coming under the bike upon a tip over. The genuine crash bars cost $200 here in the state. Is there a way to purchase any after market good fitting bars for a cheaper cost?

SOURCE: Engine heat burning my legs

is this bike air or liquid cooled if air cooled this is normal on a bike to get hotter in stop and go but if liquid cooled then your water pump is bad and not circulating fluid enough through engine head to keep engine cool.

SOURCE: 2001 Triumph Sprint ST 955i,

This is a common problem with this bike, and does not mean that the engine is overheating.Go to www.triumphnet.com and click on the "mods" link for a solution.
They show photos of the modification which basically consists of installing a mesh screen on the inside of the fairing to channel the heat away from your leg. Also the upper fairing vent is enlarged to aid heat disipation.

Tip

All purpose presentation easel a DIY project

You never know when you are going to need or want an easel to show off your art work, maybe your kids want to finger paint who knows they could be the next Van Gogh. Building a display easel is very simple and can be done in just a few hours.

You want to start with two pieces of wood cut to 2x82" these pieces will form the front legs of the easel. Using a table saw cut the tops of the wood to a 15* angle. Take a measuring tape and measure 78" from the bottom of the wood (up to the angle cut) mark this spot on both pieces.
Using a drill, drill a 3/8" hole through the widest side of the angle as a right angle to the cut. Repeat for the second front leg.

To make the back leg cut a piece of wood down to 2x81" long, using your drill, drill two 3/8" holes in the widest side of the wood. One hole should be 39" from the bottom of the wood and the second at 74" from the bottom.

Your art work needs something to sit on so to make the cross bar cut a piece of wood down to 2x47".

Now you are ready to assemble your easel. Take the front and back legs and lay them on the floor next to each other with the back leg in the middle. Rotate the front legs to the angle is facing the back leg and line up the holes. Slide a bolt into the hole and place a washer and a nut on the end, keeping it loose enough to adjust the angle. Stand up the easel and spread the from legs so that they are 45" away from the back leg. Tighten the bolt and you have the angle right and lay it back down.

To attach the cross bar, measure 38" up from the bottoms of the front legs find the center and drill a 3/8" hole in each and bolt the cross bar to the legs. To keep the legs from spreading too far you can attach a chain between the cross bar and the back leg. To do this you thread the chain through the hole in the back leg and tie it off. Attach an eye screw to the cross bar and loop the chain through it to keep limit how far the legs can spread to the angle that you want to work or display at.

Can not get spring in the kickback lever assembly

The return spring is not supposed to come out, however, remove the e clip and pull out the pin, the spring has a loop at the an arched leg and a leg with a pig tail. Press the arch leg and the pig tail leg together and push the loop up into the hand guard with the pig tail facing toward what would be the rear of the saw, push it up as far as it will go, push the pin back in and re fit the e clip, the arch leg of the spring should now be resting on the top of the pin if you have done ir correctly, and the tail of the pig tail should be protruding.

Can I put leg guards in the washing machine and dryer?

It is ok to put your leg guards in the washing machine but only with cold water and on the gently cycle. Otherwise, they could warp and lose their shape. Do not put them in the dryer because this will definitely cause them to become malformed.

Leveling kenmore elite front loader

  • Place the level on the top of the washing machineicon1.png to see if it is level. Make sure you test it side to side and front to back.

Pull the washing machine away from any walls if you have to make an adjustment to the legs.

  • Lift the washericon1.png and place the wood block underneath the washer. Place the block near the leg that needs to be adjusted, but don't let it obstruct the leg.

  • Loosen the nut that secures the legicon1.png with the wrench.

  • Raise the height of the leg by twisting it to the left, or lower the height by twisting it to the right.

  • Remove the block of wood from under the washer and recheck the machine with the level.

  • Raise or lower the leg if additional adjustments are needed.

  • Tighten the nut on the leg with the wrench when the machine is level.

  • Repeat the process for each leg that needs to be adjusted.

  • Move the washer back into position and check with the level again to make sure the washer remains stable to finish leveling the machine.

What type of bar stool is best for overweight individuals?

The best type of bar stool for someone who is overweight to sit in is a floor mounted stool. This type of stool is securely attached with bolts to the floor beneath it, ensuring better support and stability. If you don't want to bolt down your stools, your next best option is to get a four-legged stool. Four-leg bar stools disperse the weight of the person sitting on them evenly. On the downside, four-leg stools have a higher risk of tipping over.

My laptop keeps overheating. The fan is constantly running and the left side of the laptop gets so hot it burns my leg when i am on it. how do i keep it from doing that? is there a problem with my laptop?...

I would check to see where the air inlet vent is, as sometimes that is why your leg is getting very hot.
There are numerous laptop guards for sale on ebay. That will keep the heat off your leg and encourage a better air flow.

Lift right side of top bar of easel. remove horizontal support bar at back and bottom of easel legs. Push fabric down slightly on back curved legs of easel. Find tiny silver button on the inside of each back leg and push each as you wiggle and pull leg apart. look for hinged bar in middle back of easel and push up.
