Its your fuel pump if you can't hear it. And its inside your tank. Not a hard fix if you have a book that tells you how to remove it. Alot of procedures to follow to get it right. And yes it does work off a relay.

Bike not started for many years garage kept. What should I do before attemptong to start?

Check the tank for rust and varnished fuel and clean if necessary. Check the air box for the condition of the filter and to see if there are any mouse nests. Do not change the oil. Just check the level. Chances are the oil will look clean and it is. All the dirt that was in the oil has settled to the bottom of the engine. Upon start up and test driving with any luck this will get suspended in the oil so when you change it later, you will actually be cleaning the engine out rather than fouling up fresh oil. Next you need to remove the carburetors, take them apart, and clean them. This will insure a good start up and take care of any forgotten issues when the bike was put away. Be sure to inspect the intake manifolds for cracks and separation. Next got to the fuse box , take out each fuse one at a time and inspect it. Replace the fuses that are cracked or fall apart from age. You are also making sure that they all have good contact when you doe this. Fill, charge, and install a new battery. With fresh gas in the tank, you should be ready to fire it up. Be sure to check the sides of the tires for cracks, the depth of the tread , and the tire pressure before test riding. If the switches feel stiff ,a short blast of penetrating lube can loosen the back up.

Will not start

I'm telling ya, since harley went to all this computerized stuff on the bikes, they're getting just like our cars got. It's getting to where you can 't work on them yourself anymore.

The ignition circuit has it's own fuse now. Since Harley went to fuses instead of circuit breakers, the slightest thing and you're down for the count. With circuit breakers, you could short something and a few seconds later, you were ready to go again. These days, you've got to find the fuses and check all of them. I don't know where your fuse box is located on the bike. The header says you have a 2000 Road King. If that's right, I think the fuse box is under the seat or the right side frame panel. That's what I'd check first.

Of course, you know that you've got a compression sensor on your engine. If you take the plugs out of the heads and put them in the wires, you won't get a spark. Take the wires off the spark plugs but leave the plugs in the heads. Put another set of plugs in the wires to check for spark.

If you'll contact me directly. I'll scan a troubleshooting chart and send it to you. It may or may not help. Seems Harley changes stuff as often as the Japs do now. Contact me directly at my personal e-mail wd4ity at bellsouth.net Remind me of what you need, ignition system troubleshooting chart.

Good Luck
Steve

My 06 gsxr 750 will not start. New battery, getting fuel, replaced old fuel and bike will not turn over. What can I do to check if is getting spark?

if the bike will not turn over you mean it doesnt crank? because if it doesnt crank over then its a starter issue and could be a simple as a blow fuse, but then why did the fuse blow? ( starter going bad)..... or it could be the starter solenoid itself, and this is where i believe you might find the fuse. response feedback appreciated.

First pull your spark plug out reconnect to the plug wire and ground tot he engine body
Pull the starter cord and see if you have a good clean spark that goes to the electrode and not to the side of the spark plug.
If no spark check your off/on switch

Suzuki tl 1000 electric problems

OK, the first thing to do is check your fuse box for blown ignition fuse all motors in order to run must have fuel, air, fire, oil to operate. Since this bike was setting up for four months I recommend changing the oil and filters, empty and flush the gas tank remove any rust if present, your carburators will need servicing, empty and clean the bowls replace gaskets clean your jets, charge your battery replace it needed. Check your charging system (ie stator.) for proper voltage output replace if needed. check Automatic timing unit at the chank shaft on lower right side of the bike. this is needed for impulse signal to be sent to the coils to firng in seqence. If no fire at the spark plug the problem is either your ATU or your coils need replacing. Happy riding !!!

You have left gas in it from last time you used it. The leftover gas has clogged up the ports in the carburetor. You will need to clean out the carburetor to get fuel to flow. While you are at it replace the spark plug and change the oil.
