My mechanic is asking to re bore my bajaj pulsar 150 2006 model. Just wanted to check if i should do that or replace the entire bore piston kit

Hi, Amit it takes special equipment and skill to bore a cylinder properly so it can be guaranteed then there is the price difference if you trust your mechanic and reboring is substantially cheaper then go for it but if the difference is just a few "DRACHMA" then get the big bore kit for more information about your question and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need, please click on the links below. Hi, Muth* I recommend a big bore kit for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. How to increase a 250

You can rebore to a higher cc but not normally worth the expense unless you have a damaged piston. Also many bores are chromed, so you have to get them bored, chromed and honed. Then you have to make sure you can get the oversize piston before.

For increasing speed, just take it to someone who races them.

What is the cause of power loss and requirement to fix it

dirt in the carb , strip and clean ! clean tank also !
low compression , 100psi or more on tester and if less then remove cylinder head and check bore for wear or damage , gasket also ! if damage in bore then a rebore and oversize piston kit and new gaskets etc !

Excessive carbon on spark plugs which causes to fail

carbon on sparkplugs are caused by oil in the combustion chamber.

here are some things to do:
1. replace the sparkplug
2. replace your head gasket
3. check if your ignition timing is correct (timing in the distributor, camshaft, and crankshaft)

if these does not solve your problem, try this:
1. have your cylinder head checked for leaks/cracks
2. replace your piston rings

lastly, if all of these dont work, this is the solution (but quite pricey)
1. have your head rebored. reboring the cylinder head means making your combustion chamber wider so cracks/leaks on the wall will be removed.
2. after rebore.. you have 2 options: resleeve or replace piston rings. Resleeve means inserting sleeves in the bored chamber to replace the removed part. replacing pistong rings is also an alternative since your old one will not fit anymore ot the rebored head.
