Pull the head and have a helicoil fitted b to the plug hole. It requires the hole to be rethreaded for the helicoil. It is best to pull the head as there will be metal bits that will get into the combustion chamber and will damage the bore and piston

SOURCE: Am looking ofr a copy of the manual - not a repair

Try this link, for download or for sale. Suzuki dealers can order them but they are often expensive if they say it may take six weeks. They have been known to source their own manuals from OEM partslist sellers who have remaining copies.

The following 2 links provide threads to these OEM sellers and have normal on-line shops. Cheers.

SOURCE: Clutch adjuster threads in primary cover very worn

Anything that works is acceptable. Instead of helicoils, I'd prefer to use either a Timesert or a Keensert. They are available in various lengths. The longer the better of course, but these things are made of steel and don't wear if they get loose. That's what wears the threads in most of the Sporty primary covers, the adjuster was run loose and vibration wears the threads. If you know a good welder, that's the way to go.

Good luck
Steve

SOURCE: 1996 xr 250 keeps blowing spark plugs out?? Do i

If the threads are bad enough to allow the plugs to actually blow out then retapping will only make it worse. Helicoil or a new head is all you can do.

SOURCE: spark plug cylinder hole is stripped plug will not

no matter which way you do this you will have to pull the motor and disassemble it. There are kits where you bore out the hole and press fit a threaded part in, or you can see if you can bored out and rethread both plug holes for a larger spark plug or replace the upper head all together

Sparkplug will not tighten

Hi abpd7414
Sounds like you have a stripped head, normally this happens when the plug is over tightened or when the spark plug ceases to the head.
You will have to go to your local auto parts store and explain your problem, they have the answer to your problem.
It is called a Helicoil and Tap.
You can find one at this webpage...

Stripped spark plug

Hi Anglee

You will need to use a helicoil to replace the stripped out threads.
You can get them at most auto parts houses.
I will send you to youtube to see a video on how to use a heilcoil to repair your stripped out spark plug hole.

Spark plug blows out need to find out what an how to fix

THere are really only 2 ways to fix this, and you must be mechnically inclined to do it. You have stripped the thread in the head so you either have to 1) replace the whole head assembly or 2) get the spark plug hole tapped and rethreadded.

The spark plug in my Husqvarna 326L wobbles and causes the engine to stop because the threads are stripped where it is screwed in.

there is a thing called a helicoil that can fix this issue, they are sold at auto stores. the hole is drilled slightly larger and thread tapped and the helicoil is like a wire tube you thread in and leave and the plug screws inside of it. this is hole they fix bad spark plugs on cars. bring spark plug with you to store and they can match it up for size.

I have a stripped spark plug thread on my 1998 BMW

Your most cost effective solution is a Helicoil, A Timesert is about the same maybe a few dollars more but if will be a better fix than the Helicoil. The next two options are the used head or if it is being removed a machine shop could build up and redrill and thread the hole (like new). Myself I would probably be satisfied with a good installation of the time sert but it might be a time well spent to see how much another head or the machine shop repair is going to cost you.

1997 ford expedition spark plug blow, its all strip. its an aluim head. is there a quick fix or do i have to replace the whole freaking heads?

The Spark Plug hole can be repaired. The professional way is to remove the cylinder head, and use a repair such as a Helicoil.

The spark plug hole is tapped out to a larger thread size, with a special Helicoil tap. Loctite or some other form of thread locker is applied, and the Helicoil is inserted.

Helicoil's are made of Stainless Steel, and are much better than the original material used in the cylinder head. (Be it cast iron or aluminum)
Drag racers use Helicoil's in their engines.

Tapping out the spark plug hole for a Helicoil, or using a special thread chaser, is NOT a good idea, while the cylinder head is still installed on the engine.
The tap creates chips of metal which fall down into the cylinder.
Using a vacuum to try to alleviate the chips, falls short of a good repair job.

Spark plug on right hand side of motor pops out as

The plug is possibly stripped in the hole and needs mechanical attention immediately. Have a mechanic put a helicoil in the hole where the threads are damaged. Whoever changed the spark plugs last was a **** and needs to never touch another car in his/her life
