Not quite sure what you mean but the only electrical wires that could be going to the carb would be for the auto choke which works similar to a thermostat have you got starting issues

Tiller starts and runs for a few seconds only with choke on

Sounds like you have a dirty carburetor. Might be able to get it going with a dose of carburetor cleaning in the gas tank (Sea Foam is good), about a 1/4 cup is more than enough. You need to start and run it a couple times to work the cleaner in to the carb. Then, let it sit a day or so.

Other than this, remove carb and do a good cleaning with spray carb cleaner in all the jets. If there is a brass bolt on the bottom of the carb that holds the bowl on, it may very well have 1 or 3 itsy bitsy teeny tiny hole, almost invisible to the naked eye. They HAVE to be open. Did I mention that they are small???

My MTD Green Machine is filling the engine up with gas. I have had the carb off three times, the needle is free, but it still keeps letting gas into the engine HELP and Thanks

Have you looked at replacing the seat along with the needle? Plus the float may have a hole in it or some crude on it weighing it down. Or the float may be not adjusted right.
Good Day.

Strange thigs about YAMAHA TW 125

Hi
I have been working on my carb today, the pipe from the bottom of the carb should just run down by the bottom of the swinging arm, there should be another pipe from the pipe on the left side of the carb just above the fuel intake which also runs down to the swinging arm and connect to nothing.
Cheers

Carbs were removed and cleaned. now starts hard and does not idle

sounds like carbs not cleaned right, oh try changing fuel filter, does fuel pump run constantly. if you cant hear it you can feel it, up behind the ignition. Berrymans B12 fuel additive works wonders. double dose add to gas run bike til hot then let stand overnight, pray a lot and try it again.
here is a free pdf service manual too http://www.carlsalter.com/aaman/Yamaha_VSTAR_650_MAIN_MAN.pdf

When start bike up,it runs on 4 then onto 3 then 2 then cuts out.have stripped carbs rebuilt, balanced them.new plugs.runs fine till warm, think may be fuel problem. changed fuel tap.ballenced carbs with 2...

Are the cabies flooding or runing out of fuel? pull the choke on dose it help if it does low fuel.

Drain the bowls and see if there is plenty of fuel.....If its flooding turn the fuel off or block it when the engine starts to drop clys if it starts to pick up after 10secs or so the carbies are flooding

Will not start not getting fuel to carb

Prime the carb and see if it starts for about 3 seconds. If you can manually get it to start, the problem is in the fuel line most likely the fuel pump that is in the gas tank. The fuel filters do not just plug up without notice but the fuel pump will go in a micro second. Here is a tip...........always always always keep a 1/4 tank of gas or more in the gas tank. The fuel pump inside the gas tank stays cool due to the fact that the gas cools it. This helps extend the life of electronic fuel pump.
