Make, model and year and a clue as to where the knocking is coming from and when? Are you braking, accelerating, turning? What?

Knock in front end

Links are easy but getting old ones off is the hardest part. Wheels off and soak 2 nuts on each side upper and lower, and let sit 1/2 hour. You should also change the bushing 2 bolts each, where the lower part of links go into stabilizer bar, the bushing hold the bar in place. It is all connected to a front end knock/ banging noise. the fix should get rid of noise.

Front end noise

you would need to describe the noise more, but most of the time it is ball joints, creeking or metal squeeking noise. Had a good tech check your front end & look at the upper ball joints.

IT COULD EITHER BE THE ANTI ROLL BAR BUSHES OR ANTI ROLL BAR LINKS AS THESE ARE DIFFICULT TO DETECT WHEN VEHICLE IS JACKED UP

This noise is likely caused by swaybar end-link joints. Newer cars use solid rods with ball and socket joints, to connect the ends of the swaybar to the frame. These ball and socket joints at the end of these rods, create an amazingly noticeable and annoying noise in the car when you go over the slightest bump. There is no way to test these things unless you disconnect one end and check to see how tight the ball is in the socket just by wigging the with your hands. If they move around at all without pressure, they are no good. Go to ebay and search "bmw endlinks " for a picture.

Move it to 3rd instead of drive and see if you still have the noise. May be transmission related since you have replaced everything else.

Knocking noise on the front end

THIS COULD BE SEVERAL ITEMS. FIRST LOOK AT THE SHOCK ABSORBER. LOOK AT THE ENDS WHERE THEY ATTACH. SOMETIMES THE RUBBER BUSHINGS GET BEAT OUT AND THEN THERE IS ONLY THE MOUNTING BOLT THAT BANGS AROUND IN THE HOLE. ALSO CHECK SUSPENSION BUSHINGS FOR EXCESSIVE WEAR AT PIVOT POINTS. DON'T KNOW IF THIS WILL HELP BECAUSE OF LACK OF INFORMATION, BUT THIS IS A STARTING POINT FOR YOU. GOOD LUCK.
