Hi, What tools & equipment are needed to change the front diff axle on my GV 1.6VVT year 2002? how long should it take to do?

Every mechanic shop has a time job book that they use to look up jobs on vehecles, this is how they determin what to charge,If you call a few garages and ask how much for this job you will get 3 differant answers but close, subtrack the parts price and you can see the labor price is left over. They will tell you how long the job is going to be,And they know what they are doing,,,,all the tools needed is same for frount brakes, and you have to know how to disasemble the balljoints and tierods with out danageing the rubber oil boots around them the strut and need a large set of sockets for the axel bolt and a good air or electric power wrench to remove bolt on axel.

How to changr drive belt

To change the final drive belt on a Wide Glide is a big job but not quite as big as on some other models.

You will have to pull the entire primary drive assembly, including the clutch and the inner primary cover from the engine and transmission. You'll have to remove the exhaust system, the starter, the rear wheel, and the left side rear shock. On a Wide Glide, you do not have to remove the swing arm.

There are some "special tools" necessary to do the job as well. You'll need a torque wrench capable of applying 150-165 pounds of torque to the engine sprocket shaft nut and 60-80 pounds LEFT-HANDED torque to the mainshaft nut in the clutch assembly. Not all torque wrenches do left-handed torque. You'll also need a "locking bar" to lock up the primary drive while you apply these torques to prevent the engine from turning. A good solid way to get the bike off the ground is necessary as well.

It's an all-day job for an experienced mechanic with the proper tools to do the job with.

Good Luck
Steve

Hi need to change rear brake light on my 2002 audi a4

After removing screw, you need to prise unit off
Start from inside of unit untill it moves, then push to out side of car to release
The unit will be tight,as it probably has not been removed
The ideal tool to remove is a plastic trim removal tool
A screwdriver will do the job
Refitting, locate slots on out side of car,and push firmly in,replace screw

I need to replace the rear brakes and rotors on my 2004 Audi A4. Will I need special tools to do this? Can I still do the job without these tools?

'B6' (2001-2004) A4s dont have seperate rotors on the rear brakes like the pre 2001 A4s do. When changing the rear pads + discs the only special tool you will need is a caliper wind back tool. Let me know if you do also need to replace any ABS components aswell as I might be able to advise.

Need 2 change brakes on 94 cadillac deville

Brakes are something that most drivers should not attempt mostly because when you step ,on the brakes you want to stop. You don't say if you have caiper brakes all around or just on the front. I have worked on brakejobs for quite a few years and always do the calipers too. repairs are expensive nowadays as with most repair shops. most shops charge one for things that they don't change so it is expensive. To do a brake job properly one needs specialized tools and know how.

Yes you will need special tools for a rear brake job. you will need a set of xzn wrenches large ones say 12 and up to 18 I believe, and you will need a caliper tool that spins and compresses the caliper at the same time

How to change rear brake shoes on a 2004 chevy venture

The rear brake shoes use a U clip to hold the shoes together. A simple solution to this change job is to change one side at a time.
Slowly unclip the U clip from the top of the shoe and remove the left shoe and spring. Replace the left shoe and reconnect the U clip, then do the same for the other shoe. Clean, adjust, and grease the self adjuster and you're done. Do the same for the other side of the van. If you take both sides of the clip off you're in for some heavy duty stretching with pliers unless you have the right tool.
