Replace the spark-plug, check the quality of the fuel(gas that is mixed or was stored more then three months is stale and wont fire correctly) make sure the fuel and air filter not clogged. If there is no change then your problem may be more technical, a nest may be restricting the govenor or you missed something with the carb and there still is debre causing it to stall.

The pump is not good,to test it,you take out the out fuel pipe start the engine ,see if fuel is coming out fully to the pipe,if sometimes it comes and cut, this means the fuel pump is not working properly. You have to change it.

Gas pouring out at back of carburetor next to housing, John Deere 170 FC420v

Likely a stuck carburetor float or debris in the carburetor inlet needle valve. Remove carburetor bowl to clean and test the function of the float and needle valve.

Kawasaki fc420v-fuel leaking from carb.

I have the exact same problem on a JD175 with the same engine--gas spewing out of a hole above where the fuel line connects on the back of the carburetor housing. There's a similar hole on the opposite (front) side of the housing. I'm told there are factory-installed plugs in both holes and the whole carburetor assemble will need to be replaced. Please post if you discover something different!

FC420V Kawasaki back fires thru carb on cold start, runs and starts fine after difficult startts

It sounds like your valves may need to be adjusted...
if they are too lose or worn they won't seat properly and when the engine fires it blows back through the intake valve.
pull the cover and see if the rockers are loose... it only takes one to give you a headache.

Murray mower starts with choke but dies

most likely your main jet in the carb is clogged, water in fuel, or a plugged fuel line, filter, or plugged in the tank where the fuel line connects. it is common to have a plug where the fuel line exits the fuel tank if there is a 90 degree turn in the fitting, debris may build up in the 90 degree area. check by replacing old fuel with new, then pull fuel line from carb and fuel should flow freely, look for a blocked fuel line if it does not flow. it it does flow, pinch off fuel line then remove the float bowl to drain remaining gas and give acess to the main jet. the main jet is located in the side or bottom of the lowest protruding area into the float bowl. run a thin wire like a guitar string thru the small jet hole to unplug, then squirt a little wd-40 thru jet hole to visually check flow. next, unpinch fuel line and fuel should flow from carb into float bowl area. then check to make sure the fuel stops flowing when the float is gently lifted to the top of its travel. if problem in this area, remove float pin, float, and needle valve and check for blockage in the needle valve seat. clean out with wd-40 and reassemble, add fresh gas and give it a try!

Toro 20624 mower runs rough

Remove float bowl from carb. Ensure gas flows with float hanging down. Ensure gas flow stops with float pushed up.. Remove float and meter needle. clean passage way were meter needle is inserted with a bread wrapper wire, with 1 in of plastic peeled off it, wire should be observed behind choke flap when fully inserted thru passage way. Replace float and meter needle. Clean float bowl. Observe float bowl screw, look to see if it has a hole thru it, if so clean with wire. Reinstall float bowl. Try to start.

Started kawasaki fc420v put in gear started pushed lever to start mower and it died. check spark plug no spark.

You need to try a new plug and see if you get spark with that one. You may have to get in a dark area to see the spark. A blue spark means it's good, a white spark means Coil is not so good, and no spark means it's a bad Coil. If you still have no spark, then you have a bad Ignition Coil (Module).

Good Luck!

Engine will start but only run at choke or half choke and low throttle sputteres and or dies if you try to increase to full throttle and dies if you take off choke

Check fuel pump delivery for adequate flow. If when choke enrichment is applied and it runs, then dies when choke is off, fuel flow is inadequate and needs choke enrichment to compensate. Also, if engine dies or chokes when increasing rpms, this will be a symptom of too little fuel. Check fuel flow at pump, then, if flow is good, check for carb blockage, unscrew the jet and inspect, check the operation of the solenoid at the bottom of the bowl, it has a wire attached to it. Trace that wire to where it plugs in, unplug it and touch it to the positive pole of the battery, it should retract. If not you need a new solenoid that has the job of metering in gas to the inner bowl below the jet assembly.

Unit will start at full choke but will not stay running with choke off, will load up on full choke and stay running around 3/4 choke

HI,
Turn off the gas and take the bowl off the carburetor.Look for water bubbles in the gas that spills away. Water will float like little balls on gas. If so drain gas tank put in new gas with some HEET added. While you have the bowl off spray up and around the bottom of the now exposed carburetor.
Pay attention to spray up the small copper tube in the center of the carb.
Clean out bowl and put it back on. Turn on your gas. Look for leaks around the replaced bowl. Good luck.
