SOURCE: mazda cx7 engine noise

Does the engine have hydraulic lifters? If so air can get into the chamber under the lifter and cause lifter noise.

Diagnosis and repair requires removing the Valve Cover. A fairly easy job for your local shop.

Locate the tensioner locknut on the right-hand cilinder (bottom): -keep the engine idling for about two or three minutes -loosen the locknut about two turnes while idling -the chain tensioner will slide into the proper position -tighten the locknut to secure the tensioner position and stop the engine -repeat every 3000km or 2000mls

SOURCE: Honda CBR 1000 -87 slacky oil pump chain

possibly but there should be a lock on the chain if think there has to be a way to adjust it id re look the chain and if not id get the dimentions of the chain and look for one on the net but make sure this one has a lock unless it will rattle so much that the lock will fail and the cain will come undone and that could cause one hell of a wreck or a ride bud

I have a 2001 honda accord. When I accelerate I get a knocking noise that speeds up with me only when in lower revs. This noise only happens when driving not when stationery.

First i would be checking your transmission fluid, you may be running low and causing a knocking noise coming from the transmission.

Rattling/knocking noise under low acceleration?

Afraid that sounds like the ends are gone, the best way to tell is to get a compression test done on it, but you can usually work it out for yourself.
The engine is under most strain when the power demand is highest for example when accelerating uphill from a slow rolling speed. you will also get the knocking on the overrun, i.e when you have been running at a higher speed and you shut the throttle. When maintaining the same speed does the knocking get more or less? if its less then its almost certain the ends have gone
If as I think it is the ends (usually the big ends rather than the little ends) I afraid its probably terminal. the cost of repair would be too high.
Be careful when riding as the probable result of worn end shells is a con rod through the side of the block and at speed that could be seriously dangerous

Loud knocking noise engine

Have a oil pressure test done on the engine to determine bearing failure. Have a compression test done to check for internal damage such as broken rings/pistons or overheated motor.. If the noise appears during acceleration then run the fault codes and look for a tuning problem or failed knock sensors

Knocking noise when accelerating

Very possible that the timing is out. Could be too advanced. If ok, possible bearing noise, low oil or exh. manifold gasket.

Knocking noise

Sounds like rod bearings, but may be piston slap. Add some motor honey to oil to thickn it up and see if that helps.

Car has loud knocking sound. gets louder with rev of engine.

Here's what you don't want to hear...A loud knocking noise from inside your engine is generally caused by a crank or rod bearing...when caught very early, sometimes they can be replaced. however, once the noise is loud, the attending crankshaft journal gets "hammered" out of shape and the job becomes very expensive and in most cases more costly than engine replacement. There is one other item that can cause a loud knock...your flywheel. Bearing problems generally cause low oil pressure. If you have that, it's gone...if not, have the flywheel checked before sending the engine to the scrapyard.
