SOURCE: 79 sportster left side upper motor mount bolt size

On the Ironhead Sportster, the top motor mount bolt that goes through the frame is usually a 1/2 inch bolt. I'd use a grade 8 fine thread bolt with a nylok nut on it. Make sure you "shim" the top motor mount to the frame with the appropiate amount of washers so as not to "torque" the frame. If you do, either the top motor mount or the tab on the frame will break from the torque and vibration.

I need a diagram to show me the bolts that need to be loosened and how to change the power steering belt on a 1999 mitsubihi galant V6

There is a long bolt that adjusts the pulley. The pulley will not move until you loosen the pulley mount bolt. The pulley is on one side of the pulley mount. Reach down the other side of the mount till you feel the large nut/bolt that goes onto the center of the pulley. Put on the the appropriate size socket and loosen the pulley mount bolt . Now when you turn the adjuster bolt sticking out the front of the motor the pulley will move. When you are done changing and adjusting the new belt the last thing you will tighten is the pulley mount bolt.

Im going to have to change my serpentine belt on a 96 buick park avenue. 3800 non supercharged. Looked at it yesterday and it looks like I have to unbolt motor mount to get the belt off? Is there an easier...

yes.that is the only way.You have to unbolt the motor mount. To replace the serpentine belt on a V6 3800 series non-supercharged motor, you must jack up the motor and remove a motor mount. Before going any further make sure that the factory belt diagram sticker is still somewhere under the hood; if not, make a detailed diagram of the path of the belt. You must then use a breaker bar with a socket (I believe 13/64") and pull it toward the front of the car to release the belt tensioner. Put the new belt on, tighten it, put the mount back on, and lower the jack. Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Passenger side motor mount was replaced 2 monthe ago and is rubbing against holding bracket I need a diagram or picture of installation maybe forgot a washer or installed wrong 2000 honda accord v6

Jack the engine up o relieve pressure on the mount, take the mount back off. there should be no washers under the mount. look at the bolts that the mount slides down on, be sure to get those center as possible in the holes. you may have to raise or lower the engine a bit more to center those up. Put the mount back on and tighten the bolts while the engine is raised. lower the car and tighten to spec.

My reverse gear just started bumping today, but not every time I back up. What could cause this? 1997 Grand Prix GTP 3.8

I assume the bumping you describe is the kind of jerking sensation you get from park into reverse. That is caused by the front motor mounts needing to be tightened.
Loosen one bolt at a time. Remove the bolt from the mounting bracket. The bolt you'll see was removed from the rubber mount, which over time becomes flattened, cracked and worn...allowing the motor to move too much.
Put the bolt back into the mount, and tighten the nut. You'll be using it as a handle to torque and turn the mount. First spray the mount with a silicone lubricant. Then use your wrench and pliers to turn it 90 degrees.
Remove the bolt and put the mount back in the bracket and tighten. Then repeat the procedure on the other mount.

How to replace a front motor mount on a 1993 Mercury Sable 3.0 V6

To change the right front motor mount on a mercury sable. 1. you will need a jack and 22mm and a 5/8 socket.
2. you want to place the jack under the catalyst converter or somewhere on the motor that will lift the motor separatly from the crossbar that the front mount is attached to.
3. apply a little lift to the jack raising the car(3 or 4 hydraulics jack lifts).
4. using the 22 mm socket wrench take the bottom nut off the mount which is located under the right side of the crossbar.
5. using the 5/8 socket remove the top bolt that attaches the mount to the motor.
6. raise the jack 2 or 3 more times( giving you more room to move the old mount out).
7 . remove the old mount paying close attention to the way it is positioned, being sure not to put the new mount in wrong.
8. apply the new mount.
9. apply the top bolt and tighten .
10. lower the jack until the mount is seated correctly onto crossbar.
11. apply bottom nut and tighten.
12. glad i could help!

I need instructions on how to replace the starter on a 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser

[Get the Flash Player] function launchVid(flashVars) { var s1 = new SWFObject('http://www.delmarlearning.com/webservices/delmedia/JWPlayer/Default/player.swf','ply','400','300','9','blue'); s1.addParam('allowscriptaccess', 'always'); s1.addParam('allowfullscreen', 'true'); s1.addParam('flashvars', flashVars); s1.write('vidPlayer'); $.scrollTo('#vidPlayer', 1000); } On all engines except the 2UZ-FE, the starter is external, mounted in a conventional manner, alongside the engine block. One the 2UZ-FE, however, the starter is mounted in the 'V' of the engine, between the cylinder head banks. The entire intake manifold assembly must be removed to access the starter motor and solenoid. (Toyota calls the solenoid a "magnetic switch.")
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Drain the cooling system.
  3. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
  4. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
    • Engine appearance cover
    • Air intake tube
    • Intake manifold
    • Starter motor mounting bolts
    • Starter wiring connectors
    • Starter motor
To install:
  1. Install or connect the following:
    • Starter motor
    • Starter wiring connectors. Tighten the cable nut to 86 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
    • Starter motor mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts to 29 ft. lbs. (39 Nm).
    • Intake manifold
    • Air intake tube
    • Engine appearance cover
    • Negative battery cable
  2. Fill the cooling system.
  3. Start the engine and check for leaks.

EMAIL ME AT bomber6509@yahoo.com for the diagram....it is too large to post here...there is no charge.

Need how-to on replacing the rear motor mount

"The" motor mount implies one of the three (actually the rear on is a transmission mount).
Loosen the bolts on the mounts that you are keeping.
Next, place a 2x6 about 1 ft long under the oil pan and place a jack under the oil pan and 2x6 board.
Apply pressure (just a little) to the jack.

Now, remove the bolts that hold the bad motor mount. Apply enough lift on the jack to get the engine weight off the motor mount (and no more).

Next, knock out the bad mount and insert the new mount. Insert the bolts (hand tighten).

Next, lower the jack until the block rests on the new mount. Tighten the other motor mount bolts and the new mount bolts (torque to about 35 Ft. lbs.)

You are done!
