Question about Harley Davidson FLHX Street Glide Motorcycles

No spark I was driving along and it just died. So i checked spark and there was none out of either so I take it it must have something to do with the coil or ignition?? Any suggestions?? And if i was to test it does anyone know what or how? and how many amps I might be looking for??

Check the easy stuff first before you rip her heart out...fuses...ignition switch....buttons/switches...kill switch...battery wires...there,s a mess of stuff under the seat to play with before you get to the coil...under the seat is also the tilt switch...

yes, you are correct, those are the two pieces that could solve your problem, but i would go first for your cdi, you may choose to have it tested first also, before you jump out to buy a new one.

Guys ...this problem is caused by a faulty Bosch ignition coil (gray type). Replace both the Ignition control unit which is linked to this type of ignition coil (buy Transpo BM 300 - cheapest pattern type) & the ignition coil itself with a newer type 1990's model (red outlet points to spark leads.) & the problem will disappear. This is a known problem caused by hairline cracks in the gray casing. These cracks cause intermittent electrical disconnects when hot/wet - MICHAEL - DUBLIN - IRELAND

SOURCE: my 2004 ttr 225 yamaha

it has to be 12v. the bike runs on a 12v system. before u check the cdi. check the plug. and the gaping. i had the same problem but it was the pulse coil. the ttr 225 is more of a beginer bike it comes from the factory very lean. so it might not be that you have a low spark because they are not ment to be fast they just have a low spark from the factory. check your carb and the jets. that might just be your problem. let me know how it works out.

Have you checked to see if it has spark ?? Is it getting fuel ??
Have you checked all the fuses to make sure they are all good ??

I would check compression, spark, and fuel. It sounds like you may have low compression and the engine seems to not keep up to the load put on it. If you check the three things I listed it will put you in the right direction. Compression testers and spark testers are available at any local auto parts store. Afetr checking these let me know what you have found and we can go from there. Good luck!

2000 s10 Blazer dies very 3-6 weeks for no reason


i would check your ignition system. you would need a meter for this but look for broke or loose connections. if it was a fuel problem i dont think it would just start up after 20 minutes. or you might try your ignition switch. if its shorting or something then ya well it would cut your engine off real quick

Car died while driving down the road and would not start no spark


i have the same problem died on me while driving an auto parts owner told me it could be the crank sensor as the part is a big seller perhaps you could try this ok and good luck i m going to change the part this weekend i hope it works

not all scanners a created equal. You need to check for trouble codes...............but it must be fixec by now.

Car dies and battery light comes on.


Will it crank over when it won't start? When It dies check for spark at the sparkplugs if none change the ignition module.
